I think she looks more mature without the bangs. She is a beautiful girl and her face is more open without them. jmo

I totally agree with you. Those bangs were blocking part of her beautiful face. Well, generally I just don't like bangs so that's part of the reason why I share your opinion.

Re: Desiree Hartsock - Bachelorette 9 - Discussion
Here's my two cents on Desiree.
The reason why Sean was all wrong for her? Sean is all gentlemanly conservatism and yes, they could have fit but they didn't . Even I foresaw that if Sean did choose her, because of his morals and values he'd sooner let Desiree's brother get away with his irresponsible views on guys other than himself. If Desiree want's to find that true love, she'd best pick a guy who not only looks good and knows how to treat his woman but also has some experience "from the other side of the tracks" as I like to call it.
The reason why I say this? I myself would like to think of me as having a sense of sophistication and like her I know my worth but even this can't change the fact that we are girls who were raised in the ghettos and the trailer homes from our past. Even if those environments in our past does not effect our positive outlooks in life today those around us and those who grew up with us may not share our views therefore they can ruin a lot of the good things going for us if we let them.
My point? Des's brother is the carbon copy of my brother.
My brother and Des's brother are what I label hard-asses because they both do their own thing and they attract a lot of girls while they are at it in which they 'play' with when and how they want. This is how Des's brother thought he had Sean all figured out, cause he does it with his 'girls'.
Of course, in the face of strangers my brother definitely has one or two up on hers cause my brother is a hard-ass but he still respects others' views and space even when it came to guys who were trying to get with his sisters. While we are the one's trying to make them squirm, my brother is the one berating us for pulling such a stunt and such. So I guess I'm luckier than Des in that respect.
This being said, Des is a very beautiful and nice girl who not only need fine ass gentleman who can treat her right but also a man who is not afraid to use his words to put people in their place and maybe even his fist a time or two to get his point across in the face of disrespect.
Yep, Des needs a BadAss who can work a suit and tie and own it, love her passionately/devotedly and own it, plus put on the boxing gloves and own it as well. It's only fitting in the face of the "hard-asses" Des probably grew up around. At the end of it all, they need to know that once she belongs to him, he'll be the one taking care of her wants and needs and no one else has a say.

I think you may be right about the type of man that Des needs and I hope she finds him on her season. BTW

Yeah, she needs someone who is sweet, understanding, open-minded, with the ability to love her passionately, and be devoted to her unconditionally. I love Sean, but he can't handle adversity. The man she ends up with better have a backbone and be able to face that hard-edged brother of hers. I also read an interview where she said her brother and her are not very close. They only see each other maybe once a year and their ways of thinking are very different from each other. She has also been away from home since she was 18 and has lived on her own ever since, which she gives as a reason why the family situation at the hometown date was not ideal. She is mature and independent and I can appreciate that.

Re: Desiree Hartsock - Bachelorette 9 - Discussion
I was in a spreecast chat with Selma the other day & someone asked what she thought about Des and she said that Des would be a great bachelorette because she's witty, sweet, fun and could totally whip these boys into shape LOL. And I think she said something about giving the guys a bit of sassy attitude, like "Im smarter than you" attitude, which Selma loved about her.
I think they'll show her personality, which I know she has and wasn't really shown on The Bachelor. I'm excited!

Desiree is competitive! You saw had badly she looked like she wanted to be part of that dodgeball game!
Can you put that interview up in Selma's thread?

She really is - I could see in the volleyball date and the goat milk chugging date.
And yes, I will.

I agree. She has been smiling and happy in most of the pictures posted here. That makes me even more excited about her season.
