Wow, they are already putting up portions of the interview? Thanks!

I'm waiting for the RS stuff, because I need the ending to figure how her answers mean.

Desiree Hartsock on The Bachelorette: "There's Going to Be Tears!" Plus, Will Her Brother Appear?

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

It's not one of the 25 contestants people are talking about leading up to The Bachelorette's season nine premiere on May 27, it's Desiree Hartsock's brother, Nate!

Des' brother made headlines during the last season of The Bachelor when he got into an intense confrontation with Sean Lowe during the hometown visit, after which she was eliminated from the ABC reality hit. The bridal stylist (who designed her dress in the third episode's rose ceremony!) reveals that her brother will be on the show this season, saying, "He was actually very supportive, so he will meet the men!"

But didn't he think The Bachelor was just for playboys, so how did he react to his sister becoming the Bachelorette? Plus, what did Des learn from Sean?

"That was a very Sean-specific conversation and it was because he saw that Sean wasn't right for me," Desiree explains of her brother's infamous fight with Sean last season. "But he is very supporting of me being able to choose and decide what's right for me."

And if her brother isn't bringing the drama, it seems like some of the contestants might! "There are a lot of strong yet emotional men this season, so they do stand up for themselves so that does create a lot of drama," she teases. (One guy makes reportedly makes a play for the fantasy suite on the first night, with Des saying, "It was very uncomfortable, but I kind of took it as a I would in my day-to-day life and kind disregarded his behavior and didn't stand for it!")

So will there be tears? "There's going to be tears, but I really wanted to go onto this show with all of my emotions being shown, so viewers can really see where I am coming from."

As for what she learned from her previous beau Sean, Desiree says, "I learned from Sean I took each and every day separately and really focused on each and every relationship, and I believe Sean was really good at that."

Though Desiree was devastated when Sean sent her home, she says she was emotionally ready to do the show. "I was past that and I knew Sean and I weren't meant to be together," she explains. "I did have to take time on my own to think about it because it is very emotional and it's a personal journey, so I needed to make sure I could share that with the world."

While she can't say if she ends the season engaged or even dating one of the 25 hopefuls, Des says, "I'm glad I did decide to do the show and I was satisfied with my decision throughout. I followed and trusted my heart the best show. I feel I stayed true to myself throughout."

The Bachelorette premieres Monday, May 27 at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Interview: The Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock Talks Sean Lowe, Her Brother and More

Posted by Shari May 15th, 2013 |

What was the biggest surprise for you on the first night? I was surprised by how many amazing men there were….and good looking.

Did you end up finding love on The Bachelorette? The journey was incredibly and emotional and really amazing throughout. (She wasn’t allowed to reveal if she chose someone or not.)

Are you happy with your journey overall? Are you glad you did it? I am glad I did the show. I followed and trusted my heart and stayed true to myself throughout.

Is your brother on the show and did he meet the men? My brother was very supportive and he did meet the men.

What do you feel that you learned by competing for Sean and did you learn anything from Sean’s strategies? I learned from Sean, I took each and every day separately. I was able to put myself in the guys shoes to understand what they are feeling.

Do you feel like you were ready to jump into this role when it happened and do you feel you believed in the process? Definitely, I chose to do the show because the feelings you develop are very real. I was upset when Sean sent me home. I knew Sean and I weren’t meant to be together and I figured why not give it a chance.

Did you cry at all this season? If so – what happened? There were tears. I wanted to go on the show with all my emotions being shown so the audience could understand what I was going through.

When you were first approached about being The Bachelorette did you jump or did you do some soul searching? I did have to take the time to think about it.

Is there any drama with the men this season? There are a lot of strong and emotional men this season. They do stand up for themselves.

What are you looking for in a man? Someone who is spontaneous, adventurous, someone who could ultimately understand me and be my best friend.

What was it like getting back to normal life after filming The Bachelorette? Has it effected your career? I’ve been able to adapt pretty easily. I haven’t gotten back to work as a bridal stylist but I would love to pursue my designs.

Did your brother have a change of heart from The Bachelor or was it Sean Lowe specific? That was a Sean specific conversation and it was because he thought Sean wasn’t right for me.

How was the experience overall? Overall the experience was an emotional journey and there were a lot of surprises. Overall, it was a journey of love and love isn’t always going to be happy. It has its ups and downs.

What do you do diet wise ? I naturally eat a pretty healthy diet. I did have a trainer prior to the show for a couple of weeks to get fit. Mainly just weights and circuits.

At the beginning of the show, what factors were you focused on when you tried to narrow down your search? You have to ask tough questions and see what they were like in past relationships and if they are ready to be in a relationship. As it continues, location and job becomes more important.

How do you feel about Sean compared to these men? A lot of the men are really unique and have different qualities than Sean. They are very spontaneous and creative.

Have any former Bachelorettes reached out to you? No – just some support from Ali via twitter.

What was the hardest question you had for the guys? I was straight forward – do you want to get married, do you want kids, where do you see yourself in the future? I wanted to make sure we aligned.

Most worried about this season? I don’t know if I ever had any worries.

Which former Bachelorette would you most compare yourself to? Ali’s free spirit is very similar to my own.

Where are some of your go to diet tips? Never let yourself go hungry and get outside – even just a walk to jumpstart your metabolism.

What does Desiree like to do? I love to hike, beach volleyball, I love to bike.

The clothes you wear on the show – are they your own? There is a stylist but there is a mixture of my own clothes too. I did design one of the rose ceremony dresses. The third episode.

Would you be willing to move? Regardless of it is from the show or my everyday life – I would be willing to move. Home is where the heart is.

Did you try and put yourself out there at all times? With Sean it was circumstantial because I wasn’t feeling it back from Sean. On the show, I did put it out there.

So did she quit her job?

It looks like she is taking the Ali route. Making it sound as if she is happy with the experience, but may have possibly not chosen anyone.

They always say that though. That's why I wouldn't even bother asking.

Bachelorette' star Desiree Hartsock: My bachelors were very different from Sean Lowe
By Elizabeth Kwiatkowski, 05/15/2013

The Bachelorette star Desiree Hartsock's search for love on the ABC reality dating show's ninth season will begin on Monday, May 27 at 8PM ET/PT.

The Bachelorette star will be introduced to 25 bachelors all competing to win her heart, and the season's premiere will conclude with the 27-year-old bridal stylist from Los Angeles, CA, whittling the pack down to 19 during the first Rose Ceremony.

During a Wednesday conference call with reporters, Desiree talked to Reality TV World about her upcoming season of The Bachelorette and hinted at what viewers can expect to see.

Reality TV World: Could you tell us if you're at least happy with your journey on The Bachelorette overall and how things went your second time around on a reality dating show? For instance, are you glad you ended up deciding to star on the show or was it maybe not the great experience you had built it up to be?

Desiree Hartsock: I'm glad that I did decide to do the show and I am, I was satisfied with my decision throughout. I followed and trusted my heart the best I could, so I stayed true to myself throughout.

Reality TV World: At the beginning of the show, what factors -- such as maybe the distance between where you live or the men's careers or their past-relationship history -- were you focused on when trying to number down your search and how did those factors become increasingly more or less important to you as the show progressed after you really got to know the men?

Desiree Hartsock: Yeah, I think you do have to ask really tough questions and I think a key part is really seeing what they were like in past relationships and really finding out if they're ready to be here and continue on -- if it's going to be a serious relationship, if they're going to be ready for that.

So in the beginning, it's really gauging who is going to be there for the right reasons, and as it continued, I think that's where location and jobs really fall into line -- if you can see a future with that person.

Reality TV World: Based on what's been shown and discussed of your season so far, some of the men on your season seem really impressive. How do you feel in hindsight that Sean Lowe compared to these guys? Do some of them have similar qualities or are they completely different from him?

Desiree Hartsock: I actually, I mean, I would say I can't really compare. A lot of the men this season are very unique and really amazing men. They have different qualities than Sean had. I think a lot of them are very, very spontaneous and very creative.

Reality TV World: Would you be willing to move wherever the love of your life might live or are you hoping he'd move to Los Angeles? What changes were you willing to make in your life following the show had you ended up in a serious relationship?

Desiree Hartsock: You know, regardless of whether it's from the show or in my day to day life, I really take love as my priority. So I don't have roots anywhere and I really do feel like home is where the heart is, so I would definitely be willing to move wherever the love of my life is.

Reality TV World: During your time on The Bachelor with Sean, there were a couple times you got kind of closed off and sort of shut yourself down when you weren't sure if Sean was reciprocating some of the strong feelings you had for him. How would you say that's different from your behavior on The Bachelorette? Did you really try to put yourself out there at all times, and if so, how challenging was that?

Desiree Hartsock: That was very circumstantial because I wasn't feeling it back from Sean, but during this entire journey, I was really able to put honestly put my whole heart out there and just let it happen, whatever happens. It wasn't too challenging. I feel like that was very circumstantial.

My question is about the fantasy suite guy, Jonathan, how was that for you?

Desiree Hartsock: It was very uncomfortable, but I kind of took it like I would in my day to day life, and you know, kind of disregarded his behavior and didn't stand for it.

What surprised you most during your first night with the guys?

Desiree Hartsock: The biggest surprise, I was surprised by how many amazing men there were -- and good looking!

Reality TV World: Did you end up finding love on The Bachelorette and can you tell us if you're happily engaged?

Desiree Hartsock: You know, the journey was incredibly emotional and it was really surprising throughout, so unfortunately, I can't comment on that at this time.

In press materials, your overnight dates this season are said to be "some of the most intimate and sensual overnight dates ever." Can you talk a little bit about that? Is that true or not entirely accurate?

Desiree Hartsock: I have no idea (laughs) why those were the type of words used, because I actually just wanted those dates to be a time to talk away from the cameras. That's such a vital time to really see how someone is going to be in their day to day life, so I'm not sure exactly why -- maybe just because of the location.

Check back with Reality TV World soon for more.
