Re: The Bachelor: Women Tell All - 3/04 - Discussion Thread
RSs blog...
If you’ve watched most of this season (as I’m guessing most of you have), and you’ve followed any social media since the show has been airing, you’ll notice that plenty of Sean’s girls get along with each other. Almost all of them do. With the exception of Tierra and maybe Amanda, can you think of any of Sean’s girls that came across as aloof, mean, rude, bitchy, or unliked by others? There really wasn’t. Which pretty much meant if Tierra didn’t show up for the “Women Tell All” taping (which there were reports that she wasn’t going to), then this was going to be an awfully painful two hours to watch, because as good as this show is at manufacturing drama where there isn’t, I sure as hell would’ve liked to have seen them drum up some drama with a bunch of girls that all like each other. That would’ve been some of their best work to date if they were able to generate drama out of that.
So the 17 girls who were actually out on stage for the duration of the show were: Kristy, Taryn, Jackie, Kacie, Diana, Brooke, Ashley P (50 Shades girl), Daniella, Katie, Leslie H., Selma, Sarah, Robyn, Amanda, Desiree, AshLee, and Lesley M. Just like they did with Rozlyn years ago, and Courtney last season, Tierra was kept away from the rest of the group and sequestered, and only brought in when it was time to bring her up on the hot seat. She was kept away from everybody, brought up on the hot seat separately, then taken off stage and out of the building the second her segment was over. This is nothing new. So here are the basics about the taping:
-Obviously, the audience gets to see Monday’s episode first or else it wouldn’t make sense to them as to why AshLee’s there. In case you didn’t see ABC’s press release last week, they had already given away the fact that the girl who gets eliminated at the rose ceremony (AshLee), “…is so upset that she leaves without talking to him.” So needless to say, AshLee and Sean had to clear some things up at the taping.
-Sarah is brought up to the hot seat first and basically just talked about her experience on the show having been a fan favorite and, well, having one arm. Not much going on here.
-Tierra was brought out and took heat from essentially all the women. Of course, Tierra did what I figured she’d do which was go on the defensive not blaming anything on herself. The women attacked her and there was drama, as you would expect. Tierra did NOT come with her fiance, but was wearing her engagement ring and said she got engaged to a guy she’d been seeing on and off before the show, and the engagement happened in January.
-Desiree is also brought up on the hot seat to talk about her journey with Sean, and everything that went down with her brother at the hometown date. Apparently not much here either.
-AshLee comes up on the hot seat as well to talk about her relationship with Sean and how it seemed like she fell for him rather quickly. A couple of the women got on her for being so serious and falling so quickly, but I guess AshLee acknowledges she did fall in love, but is over Sean now. Once again, not much drama since she was well liked by others.
-Sean comes out and addresses the women and rehashes the relationships he had some of the women. He says that yes, Desiree’s brother did play a role in her departure, but that something was missing anyway from their relationship, and it seemed like she did have her guard up with him, as opposed to some of the others.
-Sean wants to address AshLee since he never got a chance to in Thailand, and basically tells her that the reason he let her go was because his feelings were stronger for the other two women. AshLee seemed to agree after watching the show back, she saw Sean’s chemistry with Catherine and Lindsay.
-As is the case every season, we are months removed from these women being on the show (3 months to be exact). So yeah, women like Desiree and AshLee who lasted the longest of the women who were there, have the more heartbreak to deal with, but they’re both over it. If you haven’t moved on in three months from a guy who’s engaged to someone else, you’ve got issues to deal with. So while Desiree and AshLee’s departures are the most fresh in the audiences mind, and people feel for them, they shouldn’t. This happened in November. Both girls seemed content with where they’re at and are over Sean.
-Basically there was zero drama after Tierra left. They showed bloopers like they always do at the end, then the video package of Catherine and Lindsay’s journey, with previews of the finale, and that was it.
So there you go. Not much in terms of drama, but I’m sure every promo for the next week will all center around the Tierra appearance. It has to. They essentially have nothing else to go off of since all the women want to take baths and giggle together.

It has been already been discussed here that the WTA (and MTA) serves as an audition for the next lead.
I think the timing of the taping lends evidence to this. Seems to me that if they simply wanted more drama/emotion they would tape it immediately after the showing of the F3 episode. I think in most cases watching the rejection would reopen any unhealed wounds still had by the rejected one making for much more raw emotion being displayed by the person.
Conversely, taping it the weekend prior to the showing, in my opinion, allows the person to appear "completely over" the rejection and ready for a new romance.

yep, and the fact that Lesley M wasn't pulled up to the hot seat seals the deal as not in the running for next Bachelorette, unfortunately :( (not that she was a big frontrunner, but she'd be awesome nonetheless). Still hoping for Des > Lindsay, but we'll see!

Good point - I find that quite unfortunate as I personally would prefer Lesley over any of the others - she has impressed me even more in her recent interviews.
