Anyone having trouble with the embed link button in the toolbar? When I click on it nothing happens so I need to add the shorten URL code manually. Been going on since yesterday...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] When this link stopped working, after repeated attempts to contact the owner to fix it, I asked support to develop a code so I can add it to our tool bar. After testing it, it was working fine, until I started testing it in every thread I was reading. I discovered that it doesn't work in random threads. I went back to support for assistance, but no response which tells me they don't know.

Do you know if it was working in all the threads you were using, or did it just start happening in one particular thread?

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] thanks for the reply I'm glad it's not just my computer! It hasn't worked every post I've made for the past 2-3 days (the AU threads and US Bette).  

I just tried it with the reply box open in the Bach US and Bette Ukraine and it's not working there either so I think the problem exists everywhere, for me at least.

ETA:  Just to clarify, I'm not talking about the toolbar button to embed an Instagram post; the one that's stopped working for me is the normal embed URL button:

That's OK I should have explained better.  When I click it nothing happens at all - the box doesn't open.  BUT!  I just tried it from a different browser (Safari) and it works!  

I also quickly tried it from a different computer and found the same thing - works on Safari but not on Firefox.  WEIRD!   All my computers are Macs if that's relevant.

The first thing I would do is sign out completely, delete cookies and browsing history. Then go back in.

I checked with Support, there isn't anyone posting about the issue. Did you install something new in the last week or so? Do all the other tool icon's work?


Right now I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with my email on my phone.

I get an email from someone. The next day I get an email from the same person. I can see the subject line and first line of the email, is different than the email from the previous day. When I open the email, it's the same email from the day before!!

This happened a few days ago. Opened an email, and the body of the email was an email from someone totally different weeks ago!

I've been having trouble with my email too (not related though IMO) - there's always something with computers isn't there!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the forum just went offline for a couple of hours and now that it's back up, the embed button is once again working for me, so it must have been a site issue and not just me.

That said, a whole lot of other stuff is now messed up - for example embedding tweets isn't working and embedding images inserts the whole picture into the post window instead of just the link text.

ETA:  Have posted in the Testing thread what happens when I try to embed a Tweet from Firefox on Mac, code copied direct from the "embed tweet" function on Twitter just like I usually do.

Sharing tweets is very simple.

Look at the tweet you want to share

To the right there are three dots, choose the dots, a drop down will appear

Choose "Embed Tweet"

A box will appear, choose "copy code"

It automatically copies it when you choose it

Come here to the reply box and paste it
It will be a long code.

Go back to the tweet and copy the link from the tweeter

Leave a few spaces after the code making sure you don't accidently delete anything

Post the link under the code in order to provide the source.
