Brad's season without Michelle would've been a snoozefest - she gave the best PIs.......and the whole black eye thing was hysterical!!

Even when she and Chantal had words, they never escalated into shouting matches. And they seemed to get over it very quickly. Seems it was more about the entertainment factor than anything personal going on.

One other thing I noticed and just want to get on the board to keep on the back burner... Ashley told Constantine at the M&G to hang in ther and be patient. She also told JP at the pre 2nd RC to also be patient - that they would be having lots of fun going further. No commentary of Ben after the M&G and no advising him to be patient etc. I suppose we could say he wasn't even on Ashley's radar screen but just something to keep in mind. Also Ashley comments right before she is giving Ryan P the first impression rose (1.33) - just exactly what she was looking for, modest, has it all together, and a nice guy. She has laready commented on Ryan's talk at the M&G at 1 hour mark so I am wondering since Ryan did not seem at all modest whether she was talking about someone else - perhaps Ben at the 1.33 mark. I continue to think there is something there and that JP came on a little too quickly. I listened to the video by tenley and Kipton - their piece of advice of advise from the Thai guy on Constantine's date - don't try to win. We should keep that in mind ...

1)Ben F says, Ashley and I experience has been good so far. I have been taking so gradual steps each time we are together.
2)Ames says, Ben F and Ashley have a visible chemistry we all can see. They fell for each other late the last date at the ophanage.
3)Ashley says she and Ben have a mutual attraction.
4)Of the date with Ben Ashley says, for the 1st time in a long time I am hopeful.
5) When JP made a declaration, Ashley pursed her lips and did not say anything. (reminded me of when Chantal was saying the sweet nothings to Brad and Brad did not answer back). Ashley begged Bentley to stay, she could have said half a word to JP but she did not.
6)Ashley says, I am certain as to my core group of guys I want to go forward with. Implying at that time, without Bentley, Ashley had a number of men she felt something for.
7)Ashley was hoovering around Ben at the orphanage IN FRONT of JP. Ashley used her hand to beat on Ben F's chest/stamped paint on Ben's shirt IN FRONT of JP. If JP was the front runner at that time, she will not be chasing/hoovering about another man. At that time, she was kissing JP etc.

Conclusion:
JP has definitely got the F2 edit. There is something missing from Ben F's F1 edit if he is the F1. (At the temple I got the impression these 2 do not have much to say to each other. )

From the last episode, I see Ames in the friend zone. There is one thing puzzling though. Why do they show so many sc of Ames. At the rc, Constantine gets a rose, they show a head and shoulder sc of Ames, Lucas gets a rose, they show a head and shoulder sc of Ames, JP gets a rose, they show a head and shoulder sc of Ames, Ames gets the next rose, then Mickey gets a rose, camera pans to have Ames in the background.

If Ames is on BP, so are Blake and William as per the spoilers, The editing does not show them nearly as often as it shows Ames. It does not even show JP nor Constantine nearly as much as it does Ames. Even JP having a PI all about Ames. For someone so insignificant, the editing does show him alot.

I noticed that most of us have different interpretations of F2 chemistry edit. This misunderstanding has gone on for a bit. I will use paragraphs of 2 random posts as examples.

In relation to Ben F the post says = “The late date in epi 5, Ames’ comment about their chemistry, Ashley talking about their passion and how she can see an everyday life with him”

In relation to JP the post says =”When she is with JP, she is always close to him, sits in his lap and kisses that go on forever. (Fanning myself while typing) “

Generally TALKING about chemistry could mean connection, in sync, they always look to see where the other is, a mutual attraction. This is a Fleiss F1 edit. On the other hand, when they cannot keep their hands off each other, sitting on lap, always kissing, when the expression “get a room” comes to mind as in “fanning myself while typing”. THIS IS the Fleiss F2 chemistry edit. Chemistry as used in F2 edit Is sexual as in Brad Chantal.

So we see that JP clearly has the F2 chemistry edit.

I'm starting to wonder how bad the footage that the editors had to work with was. The ratings for this season are dropping. Many of the faithful watchers (like me) are fed up & considering quitting watching. No one, I repeat, NO ONE, is saying that this is a good season in any way.
Did they really think the whole "Ashley is embarassingly & creepily obsessed with Bentley" bit would be interesting or fun to watch?
We've had villains & creeps before, but they were at least a little fun to watch. Even Vienna & creepy Frank. But this isn't fun. It's depressing & uncomfortable to see the lead turn herself into something humiliating.
Whatever their intentions, TPTB carried this on too long & too far.
I don't want to see the creep come back & I'm very close to not caring about Ashley anymore. I'm already taping instead of watching & FF'ing through it because it's just too uncomfortable to watch in real time.
Didn't they have anything at all to work with out of all the multitude of hours of footage they shot? Was it all really this bad? Couldn't they have made this more fun?

I completely agree with you - but I can't overlook how they are trying to give Ben F the chemistry edit, they're trying to convince us by Ames telling us they have chemistry and a few PI statements by Ash to try and establish that chemistry. It's like they know that on the face of it Ben F and Ashley have zero chemistry but need to establish it in order to show the audience that he got the chem edit and that's why he's f2 and not F1.

The true chemistry is with JP and Ash and they don't have to sell it, we can see it with our eyes.

The problem I have with saying the chemistry edit is always F2 is that Roberto definitely got the chemistry edit, and he was not f2. I think one of the things to remember for Ashleys season is that she is saying that she wants someone that she has chemistry with. I think she has the most chemistry with JP at this point. At least Ben is finally on the radar. It will be interesting to watch how much air time these 2 guys get from here on out. They are definitely the only two that she is really interested in at this point.

Don't mean to be combative, but I think we need to differentiate between the Bachelor seasons and the Bachelorette seasons.

Ali/Roberto had chemistry as did Meredith/Ian, Jen/Jerry, and dare I say it Jillian/Ed. All were female leads and went with the person they seemed to have the most chemistry with.

In the Bachelor seasons, it appears that the opposite is true. I really don't think comparisons between male and female leads will work when determining a chemistry edit. My opinion only though.

Not only is there a difference in the edits for Bachelor and Bachelorette, but we really can't rely on past edits this season. Having Ashley as Bachelorette (with the whole Bentley fiasco) has thrown many of the traditional editing "rules" out the window. In order for viewers to buy in to Ashley's choice at the end, they had to show much more of her connection with JP Hopefully it will be "Bentley Who?" by the end of this. Also, Ben F. (and the other guys) really aren't on her radar at all so it's a moot point to compare JP's and Ben's edits.

Most women, IMO tend to feel strongest emotionally about the guy they're also attracted to the most - see Ashley with Bentley

Guys on the other hand, have no problem separating the emotional from the physical - they are able to pick the girl they find the most sexy, be physically intimate throughout the season and then dump her at F2 for the girl that they want emotionally. This usually results in a more muted physical for their F1 and an outrageous chemistry with F2 (usually means the F2 interprets the physical affection as love, falls in love and gets her heart broken at the FRC) There are again, exceptions - like Jake with Tenley, but I CANNOT see Tenley getting a sexy edit, so there's that

I think we're going to have to watch for the subtleties in the Bach seasons, but learn to be less skeptical of the in-your-face chemistry edit in Bach'ettes. JM2C

I think Ben F is definitely on the radar. My thinking is that the Bentley activities were added to give an excuse (she has to look more closely at the remaining guys after Bentley leaves) for her to start looking at Ben F. I think in fact that Ben F and Ashley were getting to know each other all along - but he is reserved and shy - they are both smart - probably being cautious and the conversations weren't too scintillating for this show ! Ben seems very confident and I think that is because he is getting good vibes from Ashley. JP is a little unsure - doesn't know what is going on in that head of hers. Drama drama drama ... but I think the slow simmering relationship with Ben is definitley heating up.
