But.... Everyone is outraged about how quickly Ash developed feelings for what's his name, yet no one comments on how quickly JP has done the same towards Ash

I'm glad you pointed this out. Some people fall hard & fast!

As far as I can see, Ash & JP are similar in that they both attracted to that small element of danger....are a little impulsive & very passionate. :A-okay:

JP hasn't said anything about being in love (or even falling in love) with Ashley at this point so I give him a pass. I get worried when the "love" word starts popping out so soon into the season!

I think what we've heard post-show all point to JP being F1:
1) Tweets that he is the winner (of course may or may not be true).
2) Jesse Kovacs claiming Ben is not F1, as he saw him in San Diego on Monday night (still haven't heard why he thinks this).
3) Ben F. tweeting, esp. a link to a disparaging and unkind blog about Ashley (At best, he's a jilted suitor. At worse, he's an insensitive fiancee.).
4) Life & Style mag describing Ash's fiance as "gushing" (of course may or may not be true).
5) RS claiming JP is the winner (again, he may have been Fleissed).

However, the edit is leading both directions. :study:

I'm not saying JP isn't F1 - I'm saying that his edit isn't pointing me in that direction.

Agree on this too.

So far JP has a strong physical edit which is evident of not only the "heated" kisses they have shared but all the PIs describing them as such. Ben has been getting the emotional connection edit.
Bentley has been getting "the one" coughstupidgirlcough.

Now once Bentley is banished in episode 6, the editors will in all likelyhood start changing and switching up their edits and we will see where this trainwreck is finally heading.

She also wanted some verbal reassurance from JP that everything was okay, so that is also a form of pursuing in a way...

This is typical of someone who hasn't had a enough attention or a good relationship with a fatherly figure, and they are constantly seeking it out

The guy is obviously smitten as a kitten....what I wouldn't do to hear their entire pajama date conversation. I'm sure it was quite interesting to say the least, and that's precisely why it's on the cutting room floor.

If there's one thing I learned last season, we need to watch who the lead pursues more than who pursues the lead. We saw alot going on between Chantal & Brad last season, but Brad kept pulling Emily aside when he had opportunity. The other women in the house noticed it too. With both JP & Ben, especially going forward, we'll see Ashley interact with both of these men, but we need to watch if the 1:1 time is suggested by Ashley or by JP/Ben.

Maybe I need to watch those scenes again???

1) Ben and Ashley: Ben says, "Well it was a BIG day" then leans in to kiss Ashley. After the first kiss, Ashley leans in for several more kisses.

2) JP and Ashley: JP says, "Come a little closer." Ashley teases him, then turns her head for the kiss. Then they both have arms, hands, faces, everything involved in a makeout session.

So it seems to me that, so far, both guys initiated those kisses, not Ashley, but then she continued to kiss both guys.

Also, in the orphanage, Ashley goes to JP FIRST for attention, flirting, etc. When JP teases her and says, "We'll flirt later", THEN she goes to Ben F.
