nah - I'm not decided on who F1 is, the edit is telling me Ben F, but I'm not ruling out that RS is right that JP is F1 - really I'm torn, I need to see more before I can definitively say who I think F1 is. Personally, I'm leaning more towards Ben F - but I can't rule out all the spoiler information that JP is F1 - I'm just plain confused..... :dancedancedanc

Personally, I dont think the edits are too weird. They need to show a lovestory from the beginning to compete with the tru wuv she has with Bentley. So they gave up some of the gotcha element of F1 vs F2 in favor of "will she move on after Bentley?"

Did they give us that with Jesse when Deanna had to choose him instead of Graham?

Lovestory is subjective - we can see what we want, read into situations things that were never there - and afterwards we wonder how 'we' missed the lovestory. I've yet to see one season where I can say I saw any kind of lovestory right from the beginning. Unless it was with a F2, and then really that was just a lust story. And the few actual love stories that I think worked in the real world were more of the 'slow burn' variety. Charlie and Bee, Byron and Mary, Trista and Ryan.

Alanna, I do agree with you on the bolded. If JP is F1, I can see that this is what they've done. But, if Ben is F1, I will consider it wonky. The trouble is, it's all 20/20 hindsight!

I may be wrong, but I don't think the true F1/2 edits will begin until Bentley is completely out of the picture - I just have a very hard time with JP's edit, including the sketchy dating history, the impatience, competitivenss and jealousy that we dont' normally get with a F1. And I also have a hard time with Ben getting very little face time with the lead and no 1:1 date until epi 5. We do have a history of F1s not getting dates until later in the season, and some F1s didn't get a 1:1 (I think it was just Deanna though)

Anders, but, Ashley has specifically said that the slow burn wins. Out of "chemistry" and "babysteps"... which edit do you see as a slow burn?

depends on how Ash defines slow burn - in my mind it means that connection that formed slowly but strongly - like Andy/Tessa whereas Bevin/Andy were hot hot hot right out of the gate.

I am new to trying to figure out edits but I keep going back to the SCs of the fire dancers date for Ben and Ash. They show several versions of them kissing with flames/fire blending into the picture.

Slow burn can be applied to both JP and Ben in that:

JP could be a slow burn compared to Bentley
Ben F. could be a slow burn compared to JP

The visuals of the fire dancers and Ben/Ash kissing with the flames blending into the picture is an interesting association with the term "slow burn".

Slow burn is what they are doing to my brain!! LOL!

My question is has a F1 ever been so hidden (Ben F) the first couple of episodes vs the F1 (JP) being so present the first couple of episodes.

I have a feeling following the show so closely maybe my opinion is different then the average viewer who only tunes into this show on Monday's.

They might be watching the Ashley can't get over Bentley show.

Depends on how far back you want to go - Jen was completely hidden while Kirsten was in our faces right from the start. It actually was quite common in the earlier days for the F1 to be hidden.
