Episode 4 - 6/13 - Discussion - Spoilers

I've wanted Shawntel to be the bachette this season ever since she got sent home last season.. I, along with others, wasn't too happy when RS said that Ash was the bachette but I decided to give her a chance when this season aired. So far she's not impressing me with all the bentley talk :\

This season has been so weird.. I just can't get into it like I have with the others. Normally I'd be hooked by this time :giggle:

I don't know, hopefully after epi 6 we won't hear anymore about bentley but we certainly won't see much of a love story this season if there is any.

Just a couple of thoughts as I can't watch and be online at the same time. They started to show JP joining in trashing Ryan (although he started to tick me off too, kudos to Fleiss and Co for the edit). JP also seemed very confident about his "relationship" with Ashley, generally the kiss of death for that person.

Did anyone see Ashley kiss Constantine, I may have missed it. Now I'm going to go back and read everyone's comments.

I like JP, but he is getting the sexy, jealous, in our face, obvious connection edit. If he's F1, I will be surprised, as it's never that obvious.
Ames was a sweetheart....he speaks more intelligently than any guy ever on this show. He seems like he lived a very entitled life, yet, I like him. I liked how he could carry on a conversation. I think he'd get real bored with Ashley in the real world.
Dino seems like a nice guy....she picked a really good F4.

Don't know what to think of Ryan now...he is beginning to remind me a little of Jake.

Nutty1 you read my thoughts, Ryan is definitely Jake the snake part 2 - wow, and again for the edit that JP is getting, I really don't think he'll be F1 and if he is, then WOW!

ICAM. Ashley has spent so much time and focus on her education, and eventual career that she probably hasn't dated very much. I believe she has said as much. Frankly, I think those are the right priorities for her young age. She'll eventually get to a place where she's ready to settle down and get married, but she's not ready yet. I think TPTB were just stuck for a Bette this season, and Ashley happened to be it, ready or not. It's too bad because instead of a love story this season, we have a bad sitcom and Ashley is made to look silly and pathetic.

Ashley is book smart not street smart. I do think she is ready for a relationship just not ready for a family just yet.

Ashely is totally looking completely pathetic. To her credit she has no idea that Bentley is the snake that he is and as far as she is concerned, he left the show for his daughter. Which is no wonder she still thinks she has unfinished business with him.

But from what they are showing us she fell so hard for Bentley that he was the one for her and the others are just there for the ride - very rude and thoughtless. She is taking advantage of these guys and basically stringing them along. Obviously they could be rejecting her roses but they have no idea the extent of her upset.
This season is actually making me sick watching this girl flounce around playing Bachelorette. And to think that one if not more than 1 of these poor saps is going to propose to her at the end makes me feel even more

I think she is the entire package. Cute as a button, smart, funny, talented --but her being the 'ette is like Judge Judy says--"she's not fully cooked yet".
If TPTB had cast her in 2 or 3 yrs--yeah, I could see her ready, but at this stage, a no vote from me. And there is nothing wrong with this. We all go through this in life, being more prepared for certain life passages than others. I do believe she was miscast, also.
I also think TPTB were "stuck". As long as Shawntel is still dealing with her dad and the business, she was in no position to take on this role either. Not unless she is willing to make some concessions with her Chico ties and I have seen nothing to indicate this. It seems like her dad and business are a huge factor in her life--like a single parent having a child.

Thank you, I agree! I thought about my grandma last night while watching Ashley. Grandma use to always say, "In some instances, common sense will help you more in life than book sense. Always keep a little common sense in your purse." I don't think Ashley is ready. She is a sweet girl and I do feel she will be ready for a serious adult relationship leading to marriage one day -- but not now. I feel that Ashley is the only ETTE we have seen so far that is in the dark socially and very insecure.

IDK, we said ALL the same things about Ali last season and look at her now. Maybe we're wrong and she's actually in a serious relationship with F1; or maybe Ash's guy just didn't show up for her on this show so she's single or in a showmance till after ATFR. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt but even I have to agree, it's looking pretty bad for her right now.
