I thought that I would see some chemistry with Ben this episode, but I didn't. Wouldn't the viewing audience (spoiled and unspoiled) be enraged that they had to endure all of this Bentley fiasco and there was indeed a love story, but they didn't show it? Just trying to make some sense out of non-sense

No more than usual. Viewers get the short end of the stick all the time. Fleiss loves to hide the true romance but to show more with the f2 person. I actually saw something with Ben F this week. I'm trying to disregard chemistry because often the f2 or 3 has more with the lead (Chantal, Bettina, Frank - hated saying that one - Jillian with Jason, Bevin, Moana ...) than does the f1. Doesn't mean there wasn't chemistry but they try to hide it.

I really think RS could be Fleissed again this season. I don't have a pony in the race but wouldn't be surprised at anything.

Random thought....after being so wrong last season (after he was so adamant he was right), do you think RS would again announce the F1 if he wasn't 100% sure this season? I mean, double & triple checking his sources??

I agree. We know so little about who these people really are, but Ashley isn't looking like a woman anywhere near ready to settle down. I suspect she hasn't had many meaningful relationships at all -- partly because she's been so crazy busy with her education and her dancing, and partly because she doesn't know how to have one. We know of the one ex-boyfriend that we assume was significant, but she's 25. That's not really much to speak of.

JP is considerably older, but still only one significant relationship that we know of. And 10 years worth of 2-3 month relationshps. I have a feeling he's showing us this season why that is. With Ashley, he's going immediately to the heavy physical lusty stuff and skipping right over the getting to know you stage. That would equate IRL to a 2-3 month mostly physical relationship, and when that buzz wears off, finding out not only that you don't know the other person well, you don't really like them much either, and on to the next person ...

Ben, while he's younger than JP, is a little more impressive in the way he handles himself. He's a little snarky around the guys, but I haven't seen any jealous, impatient, competitive stuff. He's just moving at a snail's pace. For one thing, he waited for her to show some interest in him rather than outwardly pursuing her himself. Lack of interest? Freaked out by the process? Having more fun chillin with the guys? IDK, but not moving nearly fast enough to be where he needs to be by the end of this season to be F1. Do we know anything about Ben's dating history?

Constantine and Ames are firmly in the friend zone and not even contenders for the end game IMO.

With all the real and manufactured Bentley distraction this season, I get the feeling Ashley just went with the one person left that was really showing interest in her, even though it's mostly a dog-in-heat kind of interest, and we'll see JP getting that final rose, even though everything in JP's bio says 'wrong for Ashley'. I know others are seeing a sweet love story between Jordash (his real name is Jordan, right?), but I'm not seeing it. I'm seeing an impatient, jealous guy that's turned on partly by a pretty girl and partly by a desire to win the competition.

I've posted it a couple of times, but I really would like to see Ashley choose to just date both of her F2 IRL, even though I know that's probably not an option for her.

I can't imagine that Ash is ready for kids, much less marriage. If this process taught her anything - its that her intution is completely off and should take any outcome from this show with babysteps.

I think ben wants to settle down but not have kids right away as I remember him saying in his bio. I think the passing of his father not too long ago might have change him, because I think it is only him and his sister and mom now. He wants what his parents had until his fathers death.

Patience is indeed his theme. Perhaps that is why it was highlighted in his 'about me' on the ABC board ~ What are your 3 worst attributes? Stubborn. Frustrated too easily when things don't go my way. Lack of patience.

What is your favorite holiday and why? Fourth of July -- holidays in the middle of summer where the weather is amazing, heading out to a beach with booze, having the right girl by your side, sitting at the fire on that beach at night. It's the ultimate summer weekend.

Do you like to go out dancing? If yes, what is your preferred type of dancing? I'm not opposed to it but I don't necessarily "like" it. I have always wanted to learn to salsa.

What is the best trip you have ever been on and why? I traveled to Australia for 2 months when I was about 26. i just picked up and left, on my own, and bounced around the east coast of Australia. Time of my life.

Ben F's about me ~

Ben F.

Age: 28

Occupation: Winemaker

What is your favorite all-time book and why? "The Dirt" by Motley Crue. It's crazy. Those guys epitomize the 80s metal scene.

Do you have a favorite sports team(s)? San Francisco Giants, the only team that matters.

Do you consider yourself athletic? Yes, very. I won a state championship in soccer and continue to play lots of intermural sports.

What is the best trip you have ever been on and why? 2006 World Cup trip to Germany with 9 of my buddies.

* All of Ben F's answers seem to be guy pal focused.

There's a 6 year age difference between JP and Ben F, not knowing anything about Ben F's past romantic life, one would think that he's spent more time hanging with the guys.

Note though that they both took an overseas trip in their mid-20's - JP to Australia for two months and Ben F to the World Cup in Germany (soccer, which ties in with his love of the sport).

I have two young men (ages 23 and 20), neither has thought about settling down, they date for a few months at a time, realize it's not going to work and move on. I also have three nephews ages 40, 35 and 30, the only one who is with someone is the 30 year old, he is engaged but has no plans to marry in the near future. This is background for my thought that JP (in his mid 20's) had no thoughts of settling down either and it's only since turning 30 the "biological clock" has started ticking. I know the bio clock is usually attributed to women, but men can feel that their life is slipping away too.

This weeks show was more boring than unbuttered white toast - and I loved how Whoopi called her the DUMBEST Bachette ever.

She may have been "hanging with" Ben (he said buzzing around him), but prom the pics, it looked like she was "hanging on to JP"! How many minutes of the GD did we actually see?
