People keep posting about the large age difference and several have said Ashley is 24. She was listed as 26 last season, and I've read where she had a birthday in April, so I think she is 27. JP is listed as 33. So, yes, 6 years is a bit, but I wouldn't say it is "considerable." Now Emily and Brad--what was it, 24 & 36--that I'd call considerable.

This is probably in the wrong place, but age was being discussed here. I've seen it in several threads, but have no idea which ones now.

Brad is 38, will be 39 in October. Much bigger age difference (14 yrs) than Ash and JP. Six years is totally normal age difference. Chris L., Reid and Kiptyn are all in their 30's and about 6 years older then their girlfriends.

I'm with you - I believe he got the F4 right, but I'm not convinced he got F1 right - this weeks' epi made JP look impatient, jealous (and a third thing I can't remember cuz I've been sick this week) too many things keep adding up to JP not being F1 - when Ash had the opportunity to hang with someone during the orphanage date she chose Ben. This weeks show was more boring than unbuttered white toast - and I loved how Whoopi called her the DUMBEST Bachette ever.

She may have been "hanging with" Ben (he said buzzing around him), but prom the pics, it looked like she was "hanging on to JP"! How many minutes of the GD did we actually see?

I haven't seem her hanging onto JP, what it looks to me, most of the time he is non-existence, especially if she's with the other guys. I haven't seen any special attention, she's never in a hurry to give him a rose.

There's a cap of JP standing up painting a porch pillar and she is sitting with her arms wrapped around his leg. It's a cute picture. It's on here someplace!

The producers have control over the order of roses being handed out.

JP and Ashley go Kayaking Ashley is in a turquoise bikini & a Brown sarong .

ans JP is wearing a yellow shirt ,also in Ashley's last appearance with Ben hes wearing a plain Gray T shirt , & Ashley is wearing jeans & a White and Purple shirt

so will have to wait for episode #11 to see .

We'll have to keep an eye out for those clothes.

Two weeks before the FRC aired.

On Ali's season, he changed his pick to Roberto on finale day.

And Lithargic was the one who said very early on that RS would change his F1 pick at some point. :Nod:

The biggest problem in this show is limited time format to 'fall in love' compared to real life ~

The passion has to come first on this show, then the friendship, because there simply is not enough time & time spent together to develop a good foundation of friendship and then move to the passion side of the relationship. All relationships need both, passion and being each other's best friends to succeed.

This is the main reason so many don't make it for long after the show ends..the passion is there, but they never became best friends (i.e. Ed/Jilly Brad/Emily)

Whereas, Ali/Roberto, Trista/Ryan had the passion and then in real life the friendship was there too.

I agree. We know so little about who these people really are, but Ashley isn't looking like a woman anywhere near ready to settle down. I suspect she hasn't had many meaningful relationships at all -- partly because she's been so crazy busy with her education and her dancing, and partly because she doesn't know how to have one. We know of the one ex-boyfriend that we assume was significant, but she's 25. That's not really much to speak of.

JP is considerably older, but still only one significant relationship that we know of. And 10 years worth of 2-3 month relationshps. I have a feeling he's showing us this season why that is. With Ashley, he's going immediately to the heavy physical lusty stuff and skipping right over the getting to know you stage. That would equate IRL to a 2-3 month mostly physical relationship, and when that buzz wears off, finding out not only that you don't know the other person well, you don't really like them much either, and on to the next person ...

Ben, while he's younger than JP, is a little more impressive in the way he handles himself. He's a little snarky around the guys, but I haven't seen any jealous, impatient, competitive stuff. He's just moving at a snail's pace. For one thing, he waited for her to show some interest in him rather than outwardly pursuing her himself. Lack of interest? Freaked out by the process? Having more fun chillin with the guys? IDK, but not moving nearly fast enough to be where he needs to be by the end of this season to be F1. Do we know anything about Ben's dating history?

Constantine and Ames are firmly in the friend zone and not even contenders for the end game IMO.

With all the real and manufactured Bentley distraction this season, I get the feeling Ashley just went with the one person left that was really showing interest in her, even though it's mostly a dog-in-heat kind of interest, and we'll see JP getting that final rose, even though everything in JP's bio says 'wrong for Ashley'. I know others are seeing a sweet love story between Jordash (his real name is Jordan, right?), but I'm not seeing it. I'm seeing an impatient, jealous guy that's turned on partly by a pretty girl and partly by a desire to win the competition.

I've posted it a couple of times, but I really would like to see Ashley choose to just date both of her F2 IRL, even though I know that's probably not an option for her.

In her interviews, she describes what she wants in a man "now," and assuming she isn't reading it all off of a Harlequin romance novel cover but is saying it because she really has found love, she knows what she's talking about and there's someone out-there that she really does love. I just don't see them as dogs in heat, but that's obviously JMO.

I really do believe him down to the F2...everything he has said so far is true. But after that is just questionable.
