re: opposites...I remember in an interview, Brad said both his F2 were edited so one sided. I think they try their hardest to make them seem as different as possible.

It amazes me how the F2's and F1's in this show are always complete opposites in personality and usually looks too.

I don't think Ed and Jill's problem was friendship. They are still really close friends. Its hard for any relationship to make it the distance. There are just too many factors that go into it. If these couples make it 6 months I call it a success. The fact that any of them actually end with a marriage is a miracle.

The biggest problem in this show is limited time format to 'fall in love' compared to real life ~

The passion has to come first on this show, then the friendship, because there simply is not enough time & time spent together to develop a good foundation of friendship and then move to the passion side of the relationship. All relationships need both, passion and being each other's best friends to succeed.

This is the main reason so many don't make it for long after the show ends..the passion is there, but they never became best friends (i.e. Ed/Jilly Brad/Emily)

Whereas, Ali/Roberto, Trista/Ryan had the passion and then in real life the friendship was there too.

ITA. I think if the lead would look at the solid foundation of friendship and see if there could also be a passion that develops, they would be much better off. I think Constantine and Ames are both in the "friend" zone that many have mentioned. Both are great guys who in real life, might have developed into deep relationships with all the passion needed. I think, from what we have been shown, that both guys seem to need to have the friendship develop into more instead of the other way around. I really like all 4 of the final guys and think in the right circumstances any one of them would make a good choice. I don't think that this is the right circumstance for Ashley. I think she would be better served by a strong friendship first and lead into the passion. I really like Ashley and am officially joining the "Ashley Camp"! :bigsmile:

I can't imagine that Ash is ready for kids, much less marriage. If this process taught her anything - its that her intution is completely off and should take any outcome from this show with babysteps.

I agree. We know so little about who these people really are, but Ashley isn't looking like a woman anywhere near ready to settle down. I suspect she hasn't had many meaningful relationships at all -- partly because she's been so crazy busy with her education and her dancing, and partly because she doesn't know how to have one. We know of the one ex-boyfriend that we assume was significant, but she's 25. That's not really much to speak of.

JP is considerably older, but still only one significant relationship that we know of. And 10 years worth of 2-3 month relationshps. I have a feeling he's showing us this season why that is. With Ashley, he's going immediately to the heavy physical lusty stuff and skipping right over the getting to know you stage. That would equate IRL to a 2-3 month mostly physical relationship, and when that buzz wears off, finding out not only that you don't know the other person well, you don't really like them much either, and on to the next person ...

Ben, while he's younger than JP, is a little more impressive in the way he handles himself. He's a little snarky around the guys, but I haven't seen any jealous, impatient, competitive stuff. He's just moving at a snail's pace. For one thing, he waited for her to show some interest in him rather than outwardly pursuing her himself. Lack of interest? Freaked out by the process? Having more fun chillin with the guys? IDK, but not moving nearly fast enough to be where he needs to be by the end of this season to be F1. Do we know anything about Ben's dating history?Constantine and Ames are firmly in the friend zone and not even contenders for the end game IMO.

With all the real and manufactured Bentley distraction this season, I get the feeling Ashley just went with the one person left that was really showing interest in her, even though it's mostly a dog-in-heat kind of interest, and we'll see JP getting that final rose, even though everything in JP's bio says 'wrong for Ashley'. I know others are seeing a sweet love story between Jordash (his real name is Jordan, right?), but I'm not seeing it. I'm seeing an impatient, jealous guy that's turned on partly by a pretty girl and partly by a desire to win the competition.

I've posted it a couple of times, but I really would like to see Ashley choose to just date both of her F2 IRL, even though I know that's probably not an option for her.

We know from Ben's intro video that he has been "guarded since his dad died". We also know his parents had a joyful marriage and that is what he wants. In another ITM he talks about having dated blondes and he's a total brunette guy.(whatever he means by that ,-) I think there is a definite interest in Ash. He spoke in Epi one of there being an attraction there and that he was blown away by her beauty. I see him as someone described as having a calm confidence. He however is not as comfortable in this setting with multiple suitors pursuing the girl he looks at wistfully and called Pretty, very very pretty. I see him struggling a bit more than maybe some of the others with this artificial dating environment. Ash seems to like him however. She is often seen sitting close by. I believe the spoilers that he is in the F2. They have an easy grace and comfort level in their encounters. I see the attraction between them, the flirty ways. I think he treats her as an equal, not a girl needing rescue. I think he's terrific and would be very good to and for her. I think Asia has been a do over for Ash. I think as of HTD we may see a leveling of the playing field with JP. So I am staying tuned to watch "this "journey.

I like Ben's personality, what little we've been able to see of it, and the comments about him made by the eliminated contestants. He seems really chill and laid back. IMO that's the kind of guy that would be best for Ashley. I just hope he isn't so chill that he lets her get away, if he really wants her. Seems like really often we have a 'can't open up' guy or a 'too little too late' guy. That could be Ben this season.

I remember a convo between Ash and Blake about both being dentists and type A personalities and Ash was afraid they might butt heads a lot, being such similar personality types. I think JP is a type A also. I wonder if Ash has that concern about him too?
