Forgive me for any apparent cluelessness with my post. I have been following most of these threads as closely as possible, enjoying the banter, snarkiness and sleuthing. My laptop's hard drive crashed and I've been going through withdrawal and this may or may not have been addressed. But, I am jumping in with both feet....

I know I read somewhere, be it a tabloid, online, tv report, etc., somebody somewhere reported that Ashley indicated that she was engaged on May 13. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all the screencaps we are looking at to determine the F2 from May 12? Is it possible that the original FRC was interrupted, delayed, postponed due to some of the most dramatic, emotional events to ever occur at a FRC? Maybe she chases her F1 and they talk all night into day and she finally offers the rose later?

I really have no idea. Just throwing my opinion out there now that I have a keyboard in front of me and can offer something or maybe nothing.

Andy was the first, I believe that did it backwards and we just figued he got confused as Tessa was on the left of the screes. Some said it was to better catch the sunset. I think he just screwed up.

Ian was on the right side of the screen (should have been on the left) as, supposedly, legend goes, no one expected him to propose.

Emily was on the left of the screen, but deanna was on the right.

I am sure somewhere in the achives at FORT, we have a list of placement. It comes up frequently.

I only went back to Deanna's season because that's the first season I watched with a proposal. (I started during Brad's first season but there was none.) I am just going by the pictures saved on my computer from Deanna's season forward, and don't know how they did it before that.

OMG - I remember when we got the Tessa and Bevin caps and Tessa was on the left - the furor was downright toxic. He was the first to put his choice on the left and not the right.

haven't we already figured out Ben is guy on left, and we know that's not flipped because of the tat - so JP would have to be on the right - in no season have F1 and F2 ever been on the same side.

I still think that JP's caps are flipped too..and that would make him on her right..Or if they aren't flipped they are filming them from the other side...

The theory is that the woman - in either the bach or b'ette - should be on the side so that her left hand faces the camera in case of a proposal.

With the exception of Brad/Emily/Chantal, I think it goes: F2 on the left, F1 on the right. Which makes a difference in the position of the guy proposing between seasons of Bachelor and Bachelorette.

Going back and checking my saved pics from past seasons, it seems in both Bach and Bachelorette seasons, F2 is always on the left -- e.g., Jason in Deanna's season, Kiptyn in Jillian's season, Tenley in Jake's season. (Chantal is the only exception I found going back to Deanna's season.)

The proposal position in Bachelorette seasons is with the guy proposing on the right. E.g., Jesse in Deanna's season, Ed in Jillian's season -- even Reid when he proposed to Jillian.

In Bachelor seasons, again except for Emily, going back to Deanna's season, the proposing Bachelor is on the left with his F1 to the right. In Bachette seasons, she is on the left and the proposing F1 is to her right. In Jake's season, Jake was on the left and Vienna was to his right when he proposed. Jason was on the left when he proposed to Melissa, who was on his right. (Molly as F2 was on the left. ) So it seems, except for Brad's season, the F1, whether proposing or being proposed to, is always on the right and the F2 is on the left.

For Ashley, this would mean the guy on the left is F2, and the F1 will propose while to her right. It seems to be the taller guy who turns around to get in this position. This has happened before. Jesse and Deanna switched positions. He was to her left when he greeted her at the podium and they switched so he would be on the right when he proposed.

But the opposite positions in Brad's season puts all theories in the guess mode.
