I thought Lucas left with class, but I'm not giving him a free pass on his behavior either. His behavior in Hong Kong at the cocktail party wasn't very mature either. If it's ok for one of them to not hold back, it should be ok for all of them. JMO

Right anders! Lucus really let's you know what's going on. He's doesn't hold back. I like that. I find his comment about the wedding attire interesting, I would like to see how JP would have reacted if he had Lucus or Ames on. Probably would have bursted a vessel.

Too bad Lucas went home. I think he could have provided more insight as time went on even if he wasn't going to be the F1!

So do we believe a very highly edited show or the people who actually know him? For me, I am going to stick with the people who know him and give him the benefit of the doubt.

IMO they are all great guys. Its just that this particular personality trait has (for whatever reason) been highlighted. And quite a bit in the last episode.
Its the edit.

can we sticky this?? giggling

Lucas also mentioned something about him acting like a 15 year old. Another view into JPs off camara personality.

Both! We have seen enough to know he is a great guy. He also may have strong emotional reactions. These are not mutually exclusive traits. And I believe a couple can work though different ways of being hard wired. JP is not a bad guy for becoming emotionally involved. We have seen this before with women who usually express their frustration in tears. Tears are easier to see as they feel softer to watch. If JP were inclined to cry, we may have seen his emotion upset appear in this way. This is one difference in how men and women react when their heart is involved.

I think JP is right. We can only imagine what stress they are under and cannot judge unless we've been in that situation itself. JP is a good guy and a proud guy. I just think the psychologists on the show know how to push the buttons. no

Easy answer for me....I look at both. We can gather important traits about a person from the show but we certainly can't learn everything from what the producers try to sell us. If I only looked at the show I would still think that Molly is a tramp (turns out that she is a sweet person who is well liked in the Bachelor world).

We all view JP's jealousy edit in different ways...based on our own beliefs/experiences and how much weight we hold to the edit of the show. If I were in his shoes I would feel exactly the same. Who the heck wants to see the girl they are falling for making out with others, not coming home, etc. It's about time the show has showed some of the emotions/mindf**** it puts people through. I don't see the jealousy edit as being negative per se. It shows that JP is human, upfront with his emotions and really cares for Ashley.

I don't post often but feel the need to chime in. In talking with a another Bachelorette follower (who is on the JASH train with me) we agreed that after last week's show the edit was going to take a sudden shift. No way were they going to hand JP to us on a silver platter. After watching last night and reading the boards this AM, Fleiss has done has done his intended editing job. While we may have never seen a jealousy edit in the F1 before, it was a perfect one to use, imo. Some people see it as a negative trait for JP, others see him as being more communicative, authentic and real. In other words, the edit has brought Ben more to the forefront and and it is getting people to talk about the show which is what Fleiss wants.
I still believe that RS was fed good info this season. No way, no how, is Ashley dumping JP at the F2 position. I may have rose colored glasses but I think they're working this season.

EXACTLY. I agree

That was not a bad edit at all. Now Ed, that's what I call a bad edit. Ian also had what I would call a bad edit. JP and Ben should be very happy with producers. They've been very nice to them.

surely you jest??? not a bad edit - that was up there with Vienna and her confrontational edit.

I didn't see JP's edit as bad. It is only those who think his admission of jealousy was negative and perhaps too fiesty and possessive. Many viewers, especially the unspoiled, will see this as a positive declaraton of love brewing. And it made interesting TV so why even think of editing this out for whatever reason?

I find Ben more compelling but I believe JP is F1.
Well my unspoiled friends and family saw JP actions tonight very unfavorable..They were like who died and made him God..If left them with a bad taste in their mouth..They enjoyed Ben and thought Ames was real tonight.
Good to know. It is hard to figure the unspoiled viewer from where I sit so I shouldn't even try! I definately saw it as negative, no doubt about that. When I first read his bio I was surprised he included a such a negative trait in it. He is clearly a hot head and one of the many reasons I predict this relationship will fail.

I think he can be one too. :hidingchair I know its edited but there has to be some truth to what we saw..
