So you don't think that the pictures come into things as being another method of placing the edit?

What you see doesn't necessarily agree with what I or others see. Please read what cupcakes said about the still image once it becomes video. Until we can figure out who is in the foreground and who is in the background of each picture, it doesn't help us with the edit.

Furthermore, one picture is not going to determine the ending of this show anyways, so I'd rather just wait until we can actually watch the show and pick up editing clues from that.

I just wanted to chime in on this discussion. If this was the only "blended" SC then yes it could be a clue.

However, the season Preview as well as Episode previews are full of other blended SCs each time. So what are we going to take as our clue ?

I think Bently was Ali's Roberto and can't imagine if Roberto had left at this early juncture, how Ali would have been able to go on.

Keep in mind though that Ashley didn't even have a date with Bentley. He manipulated her/deceived her into thinking he was crazy about her, said all the right things, then left for a "noble cause"; it's really textbook seduction, and insecure Ashley fell for it, but that's not love. Depending on what happens when he returns, and how much Ashley learns about the real Bentley (and whether the illusion of himself that he created is at all debunked), she may be in a position to "get over" him pretty quickly. Had Roberto turned out to be the same kind of con-artist and had Ali found this out mid-process, she might have gotten over him too and focused on a different guy.

It seems there are so many if's at this point, not the least is that we haven't seen any interaction between Ashley and BenF.

I keep coming back to how they are going to sell this, no matter who it is when you consider everything that she has said about Bentley on screen. I might be wrong but it does appear that Ashley didn't know the things he said about her during the taping of the show and only saw when everyone else did. I think a lot rides on what is said between Bentley and Ashley when he comes back. Does he actually come clean with her that he isn't interested and does she act broken hearted......or does she tell him something like she realized after he left that he was just an infatuation for her in this unusual situation and she realizes that she CAN live without him and has already moved on. To me it is this discussion that is going to throw it to Ben or to JP. Because if she acts like she is carrying a torch for Bentley, then it shows that Bentley and JP were in competition and Bentley won which IMO would then throw it to Ben who in the viewers eyes through the edit was never in competition with Bentley. It is interesting that they edited the but, Bentley has my heart from her statement about JP's kisses. This could have been done to show that JP was a viable contender against Ben. If they leave that comment in, then JP would be nothing but second choice and would not be as strong a competitor against Ben. Of course it would be nice to see Ben and Ashley together to see if there is any real chemistry.

Don't you think that comment that Ashley makes in the previews about ....and then the unexpected happens is trying to make us believe that she found what she was looking for later in the show. This is said at the same time they are showing her holding hands with Ben on the beach. Of course, who knows when she actually said it or how it was edited. It just seems to me that they were bumping Ben up on the list at that point.

Wow, just watched the video that jury posted about the group date at the orphanage. Tugs at your heart strings, no wonder it was Ashley's favorite date. Its nice to see The Bachelor contributing to a worthy cause.

I'm off to softball. I expect to see everyone tonight for a love fest that doesn't include Bentley.

And does include Ben, hopefully..
