So I'm skimming through this thread at super speed because there's no way I can get through everything but honestly, the above makes the most sense to me. It's entirely plausible they're screwing Steve over again, but I hope they have a game-plan. That game-plan better include showing the real F1 as a viable competitor to (most importantly) Bentley, as well as Ryan, William, and JP and it better start immediately. Otherwise, they're also screwing over their couple and unless they want another busted down ATFR, I don't see them going there.

So if Ben's F1, we're going to see Ben's arc getting stronger and stronger while JP and the others' stories start dimming, or at least are presented with totally insurmountable obstacles, like Dino's religion or Shawntel's profession.

Personally, I think that Roberto and Emily and Ed were extremely obvious F1s until the fourth ep when everything gets confused so this whole conversation is probably putting the cart before the horse in a major way.

Were they the last dates before the RC to determine who gets a HTD? If so it doesn't necessarily have to be a 1 on 1 like in DeAnna's case when Jesse got the last rose on a group date before the RC leading up to HTD. It just means the last rose before the RC to determine who gets a HTD goes to the F1.

Jesse is the only one who ever got it like that. The winners always come from someone with a 1 on 1 date.

But F1 with the exception of Shayne L have never been in the 5 to watch which Ben was. For a few seasons now the F1 has come from the Epi 3 date which was JP. So which patterns are we supposed to follow?

But Ash received it last year. And no one received it during Ali's season...I'm so confused.

They change things all the time. So you can never follow one pattern. Maybe this time they decided to feature the final one in the magazines. Emily did get a whole page dedicated in 2 separate magazines before the premiere episode aired and still ended up winning.

No it would be JP because he got the last rose even though it was a group date. No more roses were handed out except at RC's. It seems to me that pattern hasn't changed.
