There is no inference to draw from my personal choice not to diary my private life on the world wide web for your benefit. This is a board for discussion of a TV show and its contestants, not to interrogate members about private matters for the purpose of deterring commentary that differs from the views of some members.
That may be my all-time favorite post!
'Tis a thing of beauty. I'm already trying to figure out how I can re-work it (plagiarize it) for use with co-workers, ex-boyfriends, and some contractors I have coming to my house next month. Maybe I should tweet Jef (thread topic) and ask.
It is, indeed, a thing of beauty.

My favorite part is that the second sentence starts perfectly under the first sentence. Causing me now to regret having fallen short by the few characters necessary to even up the third line. Drat. Notes to self. Must do better. Consider font changes when appropriate.

pavalygurl wrote:yumyum1 wrote:Now that the thorough research on the 'evils' of PW and the bottle water industry has been completed, maybe the noble professions of insurance agent and race care driver (and their respective industries) can be probed? Many thanks in advance.
Except the insurance agent and race car driver are not proporting to be anything other than that.
Exactly!
If someone has strong feelings about those professions and want to enlighten the rest of us, I say go for it. Heck, make your own thread about it if that makes you feel better. This isn't the first, nor will it be the last thread to go off topic.
I despised the bottled water industry long before 1F graced my television screen. I care deeply about the earth and our environment. For the life of me, I can't figure out why others don't. If this information enlightens one person on this board and changes their opinions about using bottled water for convenience, then that is a small victory IMO.
I appreciate jlc's input and knowledge of the issues with this particular method of promoting bottled water.

jlccaz wrote:No need to stand "reality" on its head. I didn't import @peoplewater into the show. In hindsight, from the first instagram's flacking Jef's casting to the post show tweets to the #teamjef t-shirts to the now open campaign to flip @jefholm followers to @peoplewater, we (starting right here with this board) have been the targets of a playbook social media marketing campaign, and that is worthy of commentary.
When it isn't possible to "sleuth" tweets from @jefholm without encountering a @peoplewater commercial/promotional event, it is hardly off topic to examine what we are being asked to [wait for it] swallow.
In any other season, this level of flacking flacking flacking would have the masses up in arms shouting wrong reasons! wrong reasons!
Reasons for being on TV have always been fair game. PeopleWater very explicitly launched a social media campaign last Monday, with Jef's live tweets, telling all @jefholm followers to follow @peoplewater over and over, and on the Facebook fan page as well. It's fair to comment and question and discuss.
The linkage didn't start with board members. The linkage starts with the CONTESTANT executing on a corporate PR plan. That's why he has been tweeting out teases, and photos, and GPS, and t-shirts, and viewing parties that just "happen" to award spots to members of this board. To build followers, which he can then "flip" to @peoplewater. And it's fair game to discuss the linkage, and whether the public is being misled by the premise of the company, and whether the drop for drop pledge is anything but a gimmick copying Tom's shoes and Ethos water.
All of which is merely intended as a "yeah that" to what NCGALBecca said upthread.
So you're saying that he passed up the fantasy suite with Em and he's asking total strangers to "swallow?"
Thanks for all the info....Great job!

Please, stop telling posters what to do. If someone posts something that you don't agree with you are not allowed to attack them. Opinions are welcome here, but bashing members is not.
The personal attacks have got to stop.

Well, for me I have limited time to read these days and I am pretty sick of coming here only to read about everything else but tweets.........However, carry on if you must, but I think all of our computers allow us to use our search engines to look this stuff up if we so desire. Some things are better done in PM's, I think.

Re: Tweet/Facebook Updates - Bachelorette 8 - Discussion
snipped quote
Early in the season, there were two new members that research these types of companies. They were wanting information on People Water and made a couple of comments. I know one of them mentioned they hoped their findings would be positive and they could give the company a good review. In my opinion, they were run off the board... comments responding to them were so negative and nasty, it was embarrassing. It was the last I recall seeing them.
I think it was in a Jef thread where this happened, but I have no idea how to go about finding the original posts and I don't remember their screen names. I would be interested to know if they were able to obtain the info they were seeking and what their findings were. If anyone can help with this, I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you, jlccaz, for all the information you've provided.

I think the issue being contested is the transparency of the organization, specifically if it can put its money where its MarketingMouth is, namely the "drop for drop" claim. Many, many non-profits, NGOs, and other charities undergo intense scrutiny for transparency purposes esp. when they're asking for people's hard-earned cash and using the impoverished in a persuasive campaign. The interesting caveat here is that PW is a for-profit company, which, IMO, places it under an even larger lens.
Not on the same scale at all or in the same classification, but Invisible Children came under fire for its efforts in Uganda: the marketing story vs. the true story.

Jeepers wrote:shannonmac wrote:Seriously, Why not just start a thread for this
Multiple benefits:
1. Your information and posts would be easy to find and accessible to the masses.
.
2. It wouldn't derail multiple other threads.
3. When a reference comes up ie like Bloven asking what is this all about. We can direct her there for background info.
Good idea???? I know I have nothing credible to say because I made a silly.
Woof, Woof...
Your woof woof is quite appropriate .. Not silly at all
RE: the above post.
There in lies the rationale for a separate thread on this...

And the next tweet is:

Interesting post on twitter. Obviously Jef has been in touch with Jane from the youtube video.
Amelia Briggs @ameliambriggs
@jefholm Jane from the video is my best friend. I wish I could come visit you with her! She is so excited! Thanks for making her happy!
Really he is so amazing.
