Re: Tweet/Facebook Updates - Bachelorette 8 - Discussion
I am cracking up, Rich, at the sanctimony of my own post. Well played, buddy. While I do own a few nice pumps, none are LOUBOUTINs and as sole breadwinner for family of 4, they don't seem to be arriving in the mail regardless of who pi#%($* me off that week.

jlc, I love that you keep it real about the PW company. I'm sure several of today's posters haven't been here long enough (more than a month?) to remember that I, too, posted my thoughts against a bottled water company and their supposed charitable actions. I, personally, am always careful about where my charitable donations go. I would never buy overpriced bottled water, in a designer not-really-biodegradable bottle for a fraction of the cost to go to digging wells in 3rd world countries. There are plenty of bona fide, not-for-profit companies that have that very same focus where a majority of the donation goes to the wells. Besides, I'm just against the concept of using bottled water for convenience sake anyway. But, that's just me.
I'm also one that doesn't believe you have to have made trips to other countries to do volunteer/charitable work in order to make a difference. I have been a volunteer for various charities/projects in my very own community for over 30 years. I also make regular donations to charities of my choice. I'm sure you have a similar story, jlc, and it's not necessary for you to prove to anyone that you have a charitable heart to justify your posts.
I don't care what 1F chooses to do to "make a living" (except the stated problem I have with bottled water in general). However, I really don't like the concept that they try to sell their bottled water with the well thing as their advertising gimmick. If they want to do good and build wells, I say do it with the millions they already have and quit trying to sell overpriced, designer water to the masses and make them feel good while buying it! /rant
jlccaz, keep fighting the good fight. You have supporters around here even if they aren't vocal about it.

Chacharo and I second everything you said. I'd like to add that when background and research is provided about the bottled water industry and PW in particular I hate to see it dismssed as "making fun of Jef's company". Rather, it rounds out his picture and fills in some blanks, just the same as the others' stories and backgrounds gradually get filled in.

Here, here! (intentional, that) As I said to someone the other day, People Water is for solving global water scarcity as much as the Monopoly game at McDonald's is about solving poverty in America.

But it's great to have some educational, objective posts to give an entire picture.

Oh, yeah, the Muppets .....
So if this gal aspires to go on a mission to Africa, why is she not more actively involved in this organization or any other, for that matter? Oh yeah...she's been pursuing her 'what if' for the last two years!

Re: Tweet/Facebook Updates - Bachelorette 8 - Discussion
Last season, at FORT (easy to search archives), there were a number of dispositive "takedowns" of this whole "byline" that she had worked for the hospital as an employee or in any defined role. I don't blame her, it was the only option since SOMETHING had to go under her name along with her age on Brad's season.
Hopefully, she now realizes as well that she will not be marrying a "CEO" of his own company. It's even better -- it's a trust fund apparently.
