Ah, but isn't it NBC who will broadcast the Olympics? As NBC doesn't exist in Chris's world then this could be the 'event of the summer'.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.

Of course it is! Besides Fleiss tweeted that tomorrow nights show was "reaallllly good!" we'll, that settles it. I'll watch then because Fleiss would never lie. Harrison tweeted later mostly about Bachelor Pad. "I was there and I can't believe it! #epic "

Bachelor Pad the night before the finale? What am I missing?

Just went to ABC site and the big banner is Bach Pad not the Bachette Finale. Its just odd, why aren't they pushing the finale? I don't think it ended how they wanted/hoped. They just want to move on to the next show.

She hasn't changed her stripes since she had that bad tv show about NASCAR. Her self esteem is all Barbie like -- "I'm pretty! There's something I can do!". Ashley suffered from an unflattering edit the first half of season (broken picker edit) but she was always in real life a smart accomplished three dimensional woman. Emily hasn't found herself and won't find herself through a tv career. In a way a quickie marriage into a large religious family would be therapeutic if she stayed off tv for awhile. She could use some of what they got.

And it makes me sad to think of ricki the bystander. But kids are adaptable and resilient I suppose and perhaps Emily thought all those big Mormon families would love her daughter all the awhile dressing her like Suri. Different strokes
!!
Yep and this is why Emily and this season have been the final straw and I've almost totally stopped watching. Go to college, Emily and stop marrying/getting engaged to people on TV. It's humiliating!

My feelings about this season in a nutshell. Maybe we could needlepoint a sampler for her with this sentiment, you know, as a daily reminder.

I know people have strong feelings about all of this, as they always do. I'm just noticing one emotion noticeably lacking from the promotions of the finale: "satisfying."

Just my observations and they could all be dead wrong.

Satisfying for whom...the cast or the audience?

The audience. But the two are tied together. there are no bad guys this time. The whole f3 looked wonderful. But the big payoff for the audience seems to be lacking. And I could be wrong, but I just don't sense it in the promos.

Wedding at the ATFR? No chance. That's the one thing I'm sure is not going to happen. This is Fleiss' dream. They'd be screaming from the rooftops if they had this in their pocket. They'd be calling it the event of the summer, blah, blah, blah And there is no way they wouldn't have it on a special night and longer than one hour too.

Emily pregnant? Certainly possible. And maybe they would struggle to promote it as well.
I suspect that's not it though. Just something that's not completely satisfying to the audience.

I'm happy to be wrong.

Barbarossa, thanks for your insight...love your blogs!

One slight mishap. Chris Harrison has called it the event of the summer.

'The Bachelorette' Finale Drinking Game: Arie Vs. Jef Vs. Your Liver
It's that time again! The Bachelorette finale, when one heart will be broken, and two hearts will beat as one.

We've seen the spoilers, the photos, the preview and the hype.

It's going to be the "most dramatic Bachelorette finale EVER!" And the After the Final Rose is going to be LIVE! Which means none of us REALLY know what's going to happen until it's all over.

Yes, as Emily tries to decide which man who's never met her daughter is the best man to be her daughter's step-father, the stakes are impossibly high for us all. Every single one of us.

Basically all I'm trying to say is that this is the most important drinking game you're ever going to play. So play it well -- with friends around in case you need a shoulder to cry on. Or someone to drive you to the hospital.

Drink every time someone says:
"amazing/incredible journey"
"more than I ever imagined"
"impossible choice/decision"
"I don't know what to do"
"there's no doubt in my mind"

Drink every time:
Emily cries.
Chris Harrison drops a knowledge bomb.
Arie or Jef talk about how ready they are to get married/be a stepdad/inseminate Emily with a million future babies.
One of Emily's family members says something logical and she's like, "Whaaaa?"

Drink two:
If Emily releases one of the men before the rose ceremony.

Drink three:
If Emily lets both men get down on one knee before letting one of them go.

Drink four:
If Emily changes her mind about which man she wants to marry during the finale or "After the Final Rose."

Drink five:
If Emily and Jef/Arie get engaged in Curacao but are already broken up by the "After the Final Rose."

DRINK FOREVER:
If the "After the Final Rose" includes a live wedding.

Wow, it's going to be such the most romantic drinking game EVER. I can't wait! See you kids back here on Sunday night!

http://www.buddytv.com/articles/the-bachelorette/the-bachelorette-finale-drinki-46632.aspx

DRINK FOREVER AND AGAIN:
If Jef & Arie have a televised talk where one says to the other, "Dude, she's all yours - I was just here to promote my company/career", gets up, and walks out.

Did the producers last season ever wish Courtney and Ben well wishes after the finale on Twitter? I know this is an odd thing to ask and slightly off topic, but I was curious.

I know they did and continue to lavish praise on JP and Ashley on Twitter.

ETA: Elan might have wished Courtney and Ben well, but I can't remember MF ever doing so.

I know I'm late on this, but I just wanted to say I loved reading the posts in this thread today. So many of them encompass my feelings about this season and the promotion of it. I have felt like something was "off" from the beginning, starting with the end being spoiled before the season even finished filming. Now it just keeps getting weirder. I believe we may not even get the final story tomorrow but it will come out eventually.

Keep up the good posting everyone.

CH said he's always wanted to do a live ATFR show - so the reason they couldn't announce the ATFR until nearly the end was to get all the people signed on, "i"'s dotted and "t"'s crossed, and a time slot nailed down. I don't think it had anything to do with the content of the show at all. I don't think it is being hyped because there really isn't any drama and it is just a regular show where the girl picks a guy with a lot of angst and they get engaged. Nothing spectacular. I have noticed that neither the lead nor the f3 have been thrown under the bus and to me that means no real drama other than the usual f2 broken heart. yawn....
