Bomshell outcome ? Does that mean Emily and Jef engaged is a bomshell outcome ? sad.

I don't think it is that simple...I could be wrong. But based on the spoiler and post season I do think Jef is F1 but I do think there is some twist to it.

:) we'll see on sunday but more and more I think the promo is all crapshoot and we'll get same old same old. If something really different takes place I'll be pleasantly surprised.
How many seasons can the 'promise' to deliver a shock and then not ?

Brad's and Jason's were the only seasons to use the shocking, unexpected, etc. over the top wording, and in the first he rejected two girls, and in the second he switched. They don't use those words in every press release. And this is the first use of "bombshell". I will stand by the prediction that the ending has a uniquely heart wrenching component, and some bombshell aspect unique to this edition. That word was not selected to signal formulaic resolution (2 walk to podium, one walks away engaged).

Anyone remember what words they used to describe Ali's?

ETA: Just looked and saw "shocking outcome" for Ali's.

Precisely. A NON-formulaic resolution: only Roberto comes to podium.

BUT following Ali (dismissal of one guy before podium), a repeat of that outcome is no longer a bombshell.

I don't remember.
But neither of these two guys seem wishy washy about Emily.

I posted this over in the FD/LCD/FRC thread. I transcribed the current preview where they used old sc for almost the entire promo. What's with that? It begins with the fireworks display which was shown at the end of Joe's date (2nd ep) if that is a show of things to come. The only pics shown in Curacao is of Emily in the long dress meeting Arie for the MTP date and that same dress is a couple of other sc. She is wearing a white t-shirt the rest of the time and either crying, looking pensive or solemn. That part ends with Em crying and then it shows CH walking out to the podium with the audience like at a MTA & the VO says:

"Then Finale EVENT continues after the final rose goes live". "The Bachelorette Finale EVENT plus a Live After The Final Rose, Sunday 8/7 Central on ABC."

I just noticed that ABC called it an EVENT, not once but twice in this preview. As I said in the other thread, I have gone over everything that I might think would be a bombshell & with them using the word "EVENT", I think Jef & Emily might already be married & they show it during the last hour of the finale. It does say "Then Finale EVENT continues after the final rose goes live". H***, they could be fast workers and already have a bun in the oven! 😆 Now that would be a bombshell.

Please understand, I DO NOT want this season to end like this, especially since she has a child who doesn't know this guy & Emily really doesn't know him either. I would be shocked, but just look at the definition of the word:

EVENT: a significant occurrence; something that takes place; eventful

What do ya'll think?

ETA: Changed my mind again. I think the EVENT they are talking about is the FRC, which I don't think happens in Curacao, but continues on ATFR & Emily will make her decision official on the live show.

True! I am just trying to think of things that haven't been done!

What would be shocking to Emily or and ending she didn't see coming?

We can start out small on bombshell and go from there.

Bombshell - keep in mind the majority of fans that don't read the boards; a friend mentioned she won't be able to see the finale. I asked her who she liked. She said Ari like there isn't any other choice. So the first ,easiest def of bombshell is Jef F1 rather than Ari. It would be a bombshell to her.

The 2nd easy fact is that it will be hard for Emily to let Ari know he isn't F1. There is no doubt he was one her first favorite. That has to lead to drama - both in their interaction and possibly with Jef - he can't help but see how troubled she is over it. Would you want to propose seeing that upset?

Third easy fact is there is a child involved. TV proposals in that situation are more complex - F1 needs to factor in more before making a proposal.

4th concept - not ncessarily fact - I believe the phrase - "an ending Emily didn't see coming" - it could simply be falling for two guys but there is a bit of a twist somewhere hence why no screencaps of the final. We don't even have a pic of her at the final ceremony (the ones we have are purely a photoshoot). They could easily have put pics of her without the guys and not revealed anything to sleuthers.

My guess, is that we see the Rose Ceremony and no proposal - just a rose, and then a proposal within a day - too many hints that she was engaged when she left Curacao. That's where we get the rumors of "cold feet" and Emily re-assuring someone he was her choice.

The other option is that TPTB decided to re-do the proposal at AFTR and asked Emily and Jef to keep it quiet.

This scenario fits the media we're seeing.

Another press release clue (unique to this season) is that her mother makes an "astonishing" suggestion, which one can assume for now is the previewed suggestion not to go through with a TV proposal. I can't believe Emily is going to miss making those pretty pictures for TV, no way. She gets proposed to by Jef during the show. She is making her own fantasy Barbie-type TV show: outfits! jewellry! hair! make-up! No way does she walk away from the long planned for finale for any reason to do with the status of a relationship. So I am persuaded that will be the ultimate outcome. A proposal in the courtyard in the dress she picked out with the man she picked out.

I'm hangin' out here in week 9 hoping for my "awwww" at the moment in the finale but Jef has turned out to be so Canned on Camera Iand Arie coming off as Smitten and Honest) that it sucks.

I'm now left to hoping that the live portion treats us to post finale footage or something in the studio that shows what's real.

I had some diehard Reid fan friends in attendance at Jillian's ATFR, and they left noting that Ed was incredibly, strikingly handsome and charismatic in person, and Jillian was simply over the moon. (Ed was still Ed of course, not remotely ready to settle down). And when Reid came out it was awkward and horrible.

So it is possible to change one's views as a viewer. My opinion is that Emily legitimately picked Jef over Arie, and as I have posted before, she is tearing up about Arie during the fantasy date episode in anticipation of letting such a sweet, lovely relationship go albeit in favor of something else.

I do controversy for a living. It is most often the case that both sides in a debate are more right than not.
1. She and Arie had a lovely real thing going on.
2. Jef had more lasting appeal over time.
3. The format of the show mandates a choice on a particular timetable.
4. She is more about the TV Pictures she is making than anything else, so there will be a proposal, and it will be Jef.
5. She and Jef have built something resembling Coupledom over the past eight weeks.
6. Arie had real feelings, but will bounce back thanks in part to Mad Skills in wooing and attracting women (lots of experience).
7. People Water is a start up in an overcrowded space, trying to catch a wave/trend for Do-Good slogans to promote consumer goods, and use a reality TV show to launch it from obscurity to a national distribution plan. But the publicity is a bit premature, because compliance-wise the gimmick and the labeling are far from ready for primetime.
8. Before going on the show (purpose: People Water), Jef memorized lines to speak on camera, and had a careful Sun Tzu type strategy to beating the competition and winning the girl. He waited around to see if he had a real chance, and built up trust and rapport with producers so he could manage his own image. Arie probably had mixed motives as well, and I have at least 100 posts supporting my view that the sane people who do the show are the ones who have somethng to gain financially.

Off to pack for vacay! Yay!
