Re: Sean Lowe - Bachelorette 8 Contestant - Discussion
Maybe that's because he was the one who was really "dumping" her. lol I still say that of all of the F3 Bachelors, Sean was the one that wasn't "feeling it" enough to propose at the end.Laurabadora14 wrote:Sean is the only one who gets dumped and is the one doing the comforting...

That and the way MF and the producers were tweeting on Monday night about what a great guy he is make me nervous that he'll be offered The Bachelor. I'm having a difficult time rationalizing why I'd love to see Arie or Roberto -- whom I really like! -- but so desperately don't want it to be Sean -- whom I adore. But, in any case, I hope it doesn't happen. As much as I'd love seeing his beautiful face (and body) for 12 weeks, I really do want him away from the machine for good. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!NCGalBecca wrote:While seeing Sean's pain on Monday was tough to see the rest of the week has been pure gravy. The afterglow of all the fan love for him is awesome to see as well as how mature and zen he is about the whole experience. It's all good!
I can't wait to see the interview tomorrow with Patricia Shirer. It sounds like it's going to be a good one.
So, as far as we know, Roberto is still in the running to be the next Bachelor?
Sean has indicated that it was such an emotionally draining experience for him, that he wasn't sure that he could put himself through that again. Hopefully, he says no thanks!!!
Personally, I am not seeing a whole lot of enthusiasm from Sean for the gig. There's something delicious about that in its self. Meaning that his presence was sort of downplayed by The Machine throughout the season yet he won the audience's heart anyway. The outrage on Facebook about his rejection is hilarious in a way and the love for him is so understandable. Sometimes being quietly confident and understated is definitely the way to succeed. I kinda love the spot that it puts The Machine in, too. Let's just say, all in all, he's in a really good spot.
I am still holding out for a Most Eligible Dallas gig for him because it's a cool compromise. He can promote his beliefs and causes without being a kissing bandit and we'd get to see it for 8 epis. It's a really a no harm no foul kind of gig. He doesn't have to pursue Courtney..there could be another love interest for him. Or, we could watch how he muddles through his new found celebrity..with sensitivity and class, of course!seanlowe09
@Allybent God opened a door and I walked through it. One of the best decisions I've ever made. Learned so much about myself in the process.
God works in mysterious ways. I am starting to think that it was important for Sean to experience heartbreak for the first time in his life, as well as being forced to open himself up quicker than he was comfortable with in real life. This shows a tremendous amount of maturity on his part and a willingness to look deeper within himself for the lessons that it brought his way.
In a way this is the very best outcome that Sean could ever have received from this crazy show. As long as he declines being the next Bachelor, should both Roberto and Arie also decline, then Sean will be the big winner here. (1) He will get the simple life that he wants with a woman who is more suited for him, because Emily most definitely does not want the simple life. (2) Sean was able to get closure through visual evidence, was able to watch not only his interaction with Emily but also Jef's and Arie's. That helped him to see the whole picture. What a blessing that turned out to be!!! (3) Sean gets to save that precious moment when he proposes to his future wife and didn't have to waste it on a reality tv show. That right there is the one thing that I am most thankful for - FOR SEAN!!
I am hopeful that Sean now sees that he does not need nor want to look for love outside of the area where he lives. Hopefully he will meet someone soon that piques his interest. I think that all the positive reaction that he is getting from the public has also opened his eyes to bigger and better things as well.

You should watch the video here: http://www.goingbeyond.com/blog (it won't embed here)
Sean talks about how, after the fantasy date, since his was first how he sat on the beach all week envisioning getting married and being a dad to Little Ricki and how it literally never occured to him that he wouldn't get a rose. He talks about journaling to God about it on the Rose Ceremony day - asking if it was God's will for him to propose, etc. He says I guess God showed me what his plans were. He said he was in a daze when he was rejected by her.
Also, while he actually believes the process can work, he talks about why the hurt and the emotions surrounding how it ended -makes him reluctant about being the Bachelor.
He also talks about one of the things that attracted him to Emily the most was her love for her child. I believed him before but this video solidifies it for sure.

Thank you for posting that interview that Priscilla S does with Sean. It was long, but gave it was inspiring! He is a christian in actions and deeds. He was was sharing his faith with the men in the house. He showed some pain at having gotten dumped. He might consider being the next Bachelor lead. Frankly, I would find it very refreshing to see a christian man date on reality tv!! All the women would be swooning and he would not take advantage of them, I'm sure of that. No matter what is in this man's future, I'm sure he will find a great christian woman and be ok.
He also said Jef was not a christian. That he used to be and that is part of his Mormon backgrnd (Mormons are christian), but is not now.

It seemed to me he was saying that Jef was not a Christian because of his Mormon faith and that he had left the Mormon church when he was younger and wasn't following anything really anymore. That's how I understood it. I could be misunderstanding him.

I just watched the interview and loved it. I don't know how I missed him talking about Jef though; which part was that? I heard him say there were only three Christian guys but didn't hear specific names. I guess I wasn't paying as close attention as I thought?!

I think Sean said that Jef is a "free spirit" or something like that. I think Jef left the Mormon church but it is still a part of who he is. Jef and M have not been seen discussing faith and religion very much. Since they are together, they have obviously worked this out and it is not a problem with M! The Jef thread has some Users that seem to not want to speculate about religion or faith. I think its impt that Jef not be "labeled" I get the feeling.

The thing I find interesting is the Sean said 'he's not Christian' and we know Emily definitely is. I get she's attracked to a free spirit personality, but had defined beliefs/needs regarding religion! Who knows...maybe Jef will pursue something more in line with Miss M!
