The optimist in me would like to believe the bolded is true, however the realist in me does not think so.

Last season the vitriol for Courtney was over the top and it is unbelievable how many have reversed their emotions to support Ben/Courtney as a couple since their season has ended. Why? Because it is more popular to back the couple now that they are a couple vs bashing Courtney knowing Ben did pick her and at this point their relationship is working. Fanism.

re: Ben and COurtney, I have to say I really couldn't stand her last season...I understand edit, but the words coming out of her mind were vile. If her own fiancé was disgusted by her, I think that cuts some of us a break, LOL!! Anyway, though I will never be gushy about her, I am happy they are happy!

I would be very interested in seeing IF RE is chosen as the next season's goat, how many of the same posters who are currently flaming him, change course and find he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Fanism--it's not going to change much.

Kasha - it will happen. I'm sure that the degenerate , drunken orgy attendee will be loved and admired.

I think a lot of the Jef fans like Arie too. They would be very disappointed if Jef wasn't the F1, but I think the majority wouldn't "flame him", I don't see many doing it now.

As the person who wrote those words (and c'mon, it was sarcasm and a joke, people, no worse than many things that have been said (in jest) about others, and the only time I have ever made fun of Arie), I would be more concerned with the people who are currently gushing over him starting to bash him if he doesn't choose their favorite, as that is more typical of what happens every season.

Yeah, I don't have any problem with bashing, snarking, flaming the cast. (no surprise there, huh? :P ). They signed up for something that opens doors to all opinions...much like any public figure or celeb.
I do have problems with bashing or baiting posters, especially when it comes across with a holier than thou attitude. (and no, this is not aimed at anyone in particular because those people just get foe'd.)

re: JASON per se although he redeemed himself by marrying Molly proving that he really loved her when he dumped melissa on national Tv (even if the couple broke up in private before that drama show)......... and to a certain extent CHRISL until he was engaged and married with Peyton.............

my gosh!! all over sudden we found out that they were not perfect and they were human.... what a shock!!!

My personal opinion, and I have had this opinion for a long time now, is that the "suggested"... let me repeat, "SUGGESTED" designation of the relative contestant threads as 'safe havens' for their fans, was a huge mistake.

While it may have cut down on the debates and discussions within those threads, it has had the unintended consequence of polarizing the members who are fans of those contestants, and completely alienating posters who are die-hard fans of neither, and who don't want to deal with the gushing and slurping of the firestorm of adoration within them.

Me? Y'all see me everywhere, I'm either foolish enough, or stupid enough, or as I like to imagine, brave enough to wade through the slop on the floor and shoot my mouth off... although I try to be respectful of the posters there, I have no major qualms about snarking the cast, or the situations. But sadly, a lot of people refrain from sharing their thoughts in the 'fan' threads for fear, or just lack of inclination, of being called a 'hater', 'disbeliever', 'troll', or worse... and I think a lot is lost because of it.

Wow, Arie fans aren't getting much love around here. It's tough when there's a minority of us who buck the majority behind the spoiled f1, Jef. It's hard not to get sensitive when people come into the 1 thread we have dedicated to Arie and take over. Of course there are plenty of Jef, Sean, or Ryan (okay just you, Veg_out) fans who come in and participate so that helps a lot. I've decided rather than get my dander up too much I'll employ the foe button although only have 3 so far. It's very freeing when you know you have that option.

I like the Sean thread but Jef's was too gushy for me and truthfully that's the best place for it just like with the rest of the guys' fans.

It's my hope that we can get through this season however we can without bothering our dear LM & San any more than we have already. Soon we'll be talking about either BP3 or the next Bachelor and sides will change here and there. I know my nice little group from the last 2 seasons has been split up this time (I miss you, Nutty & Alsoaktchr). :why:
