...after reading all this, I sure hope Ashley doesn't mention nice warm baths when she talks to West...

Or....is the rumor of Ashley negotiating a DWTS contract true? That would take place in California. JP works in NY. Is that his company? Such an endeavor wouldn't be so good for a new relationship, and it would show me that maybe Ashley isn't that interested. :greenman:

Also, does anyone remember when Ashley made the remark that she would like to live in a warmer climate? Was it this season or during Brad's season?

One thing that I really appreciated about JP during their date was how he kept reassuring Ashley -- stop apologizing, don't be defeated, you're going to be fine, I really want to be here. I think that's going to be their "thing" this season. Ashley gets scared, JP encourages her.

who said it was negative?? Personally, for me, I'd be cautiousl of someone who serial dates especially after having my heart broken a couple hours earlier.

I’m a viewer, just like everyone else, and we all interpret what we see differently. I watch the show for edits/red flags in helping me determine who they’re trying to tell us is F1. Others watch for a love story. Many folks saw Ash/JPs date as the beginning of their love story (and maybe it is). I looked at it as information gathering, looking for information that may make him F1 through editing – I’m not looking for information to support him being F1 – I hope that makes sense. I guess the best way to describe is that I’m watching as if I don’t know who F1 is and am trying to put the puzzle pieces (edit) together to support the outcome.

JP's conversation is definitely noteworthy, no arguing that point but just not telling the whole story yet. I think I'd be more concerned about JP if he'd had the 2 1/2 yr relationship in his early 20's and then it was followed by all the short ones, but with it being the other way around and him going into a long relationship at 30, that just tell's me that he's ready to settle down but the last girl just wasn't the one.

you're talking more about the content of what he said and it relates personally to you in your life and whether or not his dating history would affect you personally. I'm talking about the fact that the content was left in for the viewer to interpret whether or not that would affect Ashley and how that may place him in the F4 and has a potential F1. I know I'm not articulating what I'm trying to say very well. We're kinda talking about the same thing, and yet we're not at the same time......

It's not telling the whole story, but it is part of the story - is it a red flag, is it something they overcome, is it foreshadowing that the relationship can't work in the real world?? Or none of those things.... we don't know yet.

What about JP saying about getting the date card, "Nothing happens according to plan. Everyone thinks it's probably me so it's probably not." But then it is him! So do we listen to the words as a clue, or what actually happened as a clue?

I get what you all are saying. But another issue is that JP has jumped out front and center too far and too fast. A great guy but I bet his situation changes over the next few episodes. I bet something surprising omes forth

Anders you have said it perfectly...

It's everybody's board, and everyone gets to do what he/she wants to do :awesome: , but if you are interested in sleuthing out the F1, you can't start jumping on a train right off the bat - JP because he is so hot, has such a great smililing face, and he had the date after that disasterous event called Bentley - you have to be objective, and try and look at everything. JP might well be the F1, but you can't let the fact that you want him to be and you like him that much, let alone he is the type guy you yourself would date influence the sluething. You have to be as objective as possible. Otherwise, you just throw the objectivity out the window and enjoy your choice for what it is. That is ok, too. There is something for everybody. yes

I don't really care who is F1 of the top 3 guys. However, if JP didn't date alot over 8 years, I'd be more concerned he had mental problems, anger issues or batted for the other team. Totally normal to date, most guys in that age bracket do. Better to date and break it up then fake it and tell multiple women I love you and be a douchebag.

He tried the long relationsip for 2 1/2 years, and for WHATEVER reasons, they were not meant to be. Better than faking an engagement, and breaking it.

just my 2 cents on it and I'm in that late 20's age group and have male friends and so does my wonderful b/f. You can't love everyone you casually date, so you move on, if it's not a match. No big deal.

They left his comments in to reinforce the insecurities of Ashley..it fits their script.

I still can't believe that Ashley said in her PI right before her date with JP, that she doesn't know now if this process will work for her and if she would be able to find love and that there may not be enough time. To me, that meant that Bently was the frontrunner. I am shaking my head over this. What did I miss? He did not even have a 1 on 1 date with her.
