Neither Coke, nor Pepsi promote themselves as 'eco-friendly', pseudo-charitable corporations... even thought the charitable work done by BOTH dwarfs the efforts of People Water, as laudable as PW's efforts are.

Research the Coca-Cola company's water efforts, for example, you may be surprised.

Hey Rich, I live in the land of Coca-Cola and went to Emory for graduate school where practically every other building is named after the family that started Coke. They not only do good things for water, but support education, as well as the near and dear to my heart biomedical research.

But I am still impressed with little guys like PW trying to make a difference. My bff and I joke that we do what we do and get paid very little money for it because of some crazy stupid desire to help humanity.

That's why I included the phrase, "as laudable as PW's efforts are." As are yours, I'm sure!

I guess my question would be... what % of the profits is Coca-Cola putting towards charity... and same for PW?

Thank you, Rich. Have you stopped partying from the Heat win yet? I was torn between cheering for the Heat (I love LeBron) and the Thunder and KD (as a good Longhorn girl). Kinda of glad the Heat got this one, but next year maybe the Thunder.

Was hot and heavy with an Emory Dental student before they closed the school. Nana lives right down the road from Emory. Dh is Tech graduate...and I alas, am a UGA girl all the way!

ETA - yes, the Coke family of heirs contributes greatly to charity. They can, and they do.

Yeah... the party's over... back in the Marlins funk... that'll hold me over till I transition to the TB Bucs funk later in the summer... which I hope will be a lot better than last year... lol

The Thunder are young and extremely talented... they'll be back! (I was a Magic fan for close to 20 years, it's taken me a while to get on the Heat train, but I'm a big believer in supporting the home team! I can even almost tolerate the Dolphins the last couple years...lol)

Rich...I was at those games in the perfect season...it was amazing. I still have pics of players and this little brown eyed girl. Great memory...I would love to see the phins pick up their game.

I wholeheartedly agree with that... I can't imagine they were counting on GH to fail in advance... I don't have any idea what their original plan was for airing the ATFR or the MTA?

As you and others have said... this season is insane...

I can't imagine that either --- no way were they banking on GH bombing.

the MTA can be slotted in on the 15th - and the finale could be a 1 hr + 1 hr AFRC if need be.

Bizarre week in the tabloids. Your 1st look:

US Weekly has a 2 page spread on what a demanding, tempermental diva Emily is.
Life & Style's cover story is devoted to Emily secretly reaching out to Brad again.
OK's cover teases a feature story on Emily and Brad's reunion (not the main cover story) but it's misdirection.
Star has a one page story alleging Emily's actually going to end up with Chris Harrison.

US Weekly's story seems like a rehash of what's already out there. It claims Emily was absolutely furious with Cassie Lambert over the Arie dating reveal. It also claims she made the producers vet potential candidates for financial wellbeing and that she grilled the contestants, including Jef (whose picture is shown). The story also claims Emily is the only lead who was more or less frozen out Chris Harrison, who generally becomes good friends with all the leads. The claim made is Emily is the only lead who hasn't given CH her phone number. However, an anonymous source also somewhat contradicts that by saying Emily's been in touch with CH over twitter and sometimes texts him. The story also goes on to cast her as conceited and in this as a stepping stone for more fame. US says Emily is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Ali and Melissa by converting this gig into more TV gigs.

The Life & Style story claims that Emily's having 2nd thoughts about her fiance because she pretty much only knew him for 20 hours before he proposed. There's a quote from Jillian confirming the small amounts of time the lead gets to spend with the F1 pre-proposal. So, Brad's allegedly been telling people Emily's gotten back in touch with him and is leaning on him because he knows her so much better than any of the guys this season. The story makes mention of how Emily was really into multiple guys and there's a quote from the show from the FRC where she's afraid of making a mistake. There are insets on all f4 guys, mentioning Arie letting her down over Kalon and then the Cassie L thing, Chris being too immature, Sean being a model (with a quote from Ashley H about how models are a red flag, I wouldn't be surprised if that weren't even from this season), and Emily being disappointed to discover how strategic Jef was. The story also claims Jef had consulted with former contestants to come up with the strategy of being elusive and holding back kisses, and it worked.

[My comment: I find this a very surprising article considering L&S is supposed to be the friendly tabloid. Maybe something happened.]

OK has a 2 page spread on how Bach'ette producers are angling to bring Brad to the ATFR show for ratings sake, so he can apologize to Emily for his temper and how badly he handled their relationship. Emily is allegedly not for this idea and she just wants to move on, but the producers allegedly want the ratings gold.

Star claims Emily and CH have fallen for each other. [My comment: This is funny because of US's claim Emily was the only lead who froze out CH] There are quotes in the story from Vienna and Jesse Czinscak. Jesse notes the coincidence of when CH's marriage fell apart, and how CH has always been flirty with the girls, but especially close with Emily. I don't remember what Vienna said, but she gave some kind of confirming quote, and also said something to the effect that she thinks there'll be a triangle situation between Emily, her F1, and CH and it's something Vienna would definitely watch.

[My editorial comment: I'm gonna guess that the one thing everybody on this board will agree on is to roll our eyes at Vienna and Jesse over their comments.]

[Further editorial commentary: Nobody from the show appears to be interested in redeeming this season to the media. Probably not a good sign of faith in their lead/F1. Life & Style's turnaround is especially strange - it's supposed to be the sympathetic tabloid that gets the unofficially approved spin from the show. Or, it was for the last few Bach/ette seasons, at least until a couple weeks ago.]

I find it interesting how they fail to mention Jill when it comes to post –show gigs. She is the best example of not being a flash in the pan and using her skills/talents as she venture into TV – especially now with her new show Love it or List it Vancouver.

But then again that would mean Em would have to have some skills/talents…bet she can whip up some mean boiled eggs!!

No it didn't. Life & Style was very consistently supportive of Ashley and her F1's relationship and consistently teased a happy ending (there was a Yes! I'm Engaged! cover story like Emily had with some teasers of the FRC proposal, and there was something about Ashley being very excited to move to the city where her F1 lives, in addition to other stories about Ashley overcoming bullying about her body, and so on and so forth). It was In Touch that went overboard with malicious and self-contradictory stories about both Ashley and JP, and OK did report once that JP had already dumped Ashley (not because of Ben but because he was only on the show for fame).

I find it interesting how they fail to mention Jill when it comes to post –show gigs. She is the best example of not being a flash in the pan and using her skills/talents as she venture into TV – especially now with her new show Love it or List it Vancouver.

ITA. Jillian got a great prime time gig in the US and is now doing great in Canada, yet gets passed over by US for starlet types whose TV presence doesn't have anything to do with pre-existing professional skills.
