Emily Maynard is a millionaire. So are these two_ Arie and Jef. I think it is hard to really determine Jef's net worth because of his background and the family is very private. Anyway, I doubt money made a difference in Emily choosing Jef (if she indeed chose him?), she came from money, too. I think she and Jef would be the most compatible in terms of social/economic standing. Quite possibly also the most compatible, intellectually. OK, some viewers think of her as dull ... vapid. She's sassy, quick-witted and, I'd say Jef read her to a T - the guy, despite his youthful looks - is very intuitive, perceptive ... and, despite his very 'now language peppered with 'like ... like ... you know' which is not uncommon or unexpected in this generation, he is actually very intelligent. I think his obvious intellect also attracted Emily. He does not have the much-desired 'Adonis' look (Sean or Arie) but the guy is a great catch for someone who looks beyond the physical attributes. I am not trying to diminish the 'Andrew Firestones, Dr. Baldwins, Ian McKees ... in the bachelor world but Jef is probably the most outstanding bachelor to participate in this type of show. I think Travis Stork was also good but he looked very disconnected ... distant. Jef also was the most honest, independent ... he really had no problem being himself and that is what makes him such a gem.

Anyway, this talk on 'money' is pure nonsense. Some thought she fell for Brad because he is reportedly loaded, LOL. Emily is way, way richer than Brad.

re. the bolded - he is extremely good at reading her - I realized how well in the deleted scene where he's interviewing her for the job position. He said he'd have her behind the camera and her posture seemed a bit off-putting at first until he stipulated 'behind the camera, taking the pictures' - she beamed at that point. I think he senses that she's tired of being seen as just another beautiful southern belle and wants people to realize she's capable of more (she's just not sure herself what that more is yet). He read it exactly right and you could tell she really liked that. I think from her posture she thought at first he would use her as a model and don't think she liked that.

That was exactly my perception on that question as well. Jef has absolutely been listening to her, and they've been having conversations about a lot more stuff than we've been privy to that's for sure. Like cherryou and you have said, he gets her. He seems to want to elevate her confidence rather than keep her in a box, a trophy like box. That Jef is a smart guy, with a very good head on his shoulders and I really think he can read people quickly and pretty accurately, too.

For me one of the things that sticks out the most is when Jef said he liked Emily as a person, and as a mother. He sees the type of mother she is and appreciates what she has done with Ricki. I have no doubt that Emily is one of the best mothers. That would be a very big deal for someone who wants to have a family and more kids. You can just see by Ricki's actions around her mom that Ricki thinks the world of her mom. At the soccer game she came up to Emily. In London when Emily wasn't feeling well and was talking to Ricki. At one point Ricki reached her arms up to her mom and said hugs. That is truly a great relationship. So happy to see it in todays generation.

I posted Jef's inteview from People in the media thread. Nothing new but I like to see how they position his statements - especially since they're a biggie media wise and the comments left by readers always interest me.

Do you have any idea why they posted Arie's article the day of the interview and waited 4 days and on a Sunday to posts Jef's? I gave up looking for it since I expected it to be posted Thursday or at the latest Friday.

My guess is because it's closer to the show airing and to bump the ratings. JMO, but they have a "special" relationship with the show.

Also, the Cheryl Burke/Bachelorette story hit the cycle last week and gave them something else to push for the show. I read an article today discussing how the networks are losing so much ground to the summer cable shows that they really have their foot on the gas pedal PR wise for their shows and are using as many avenues as they can to try to hold onto ratings especially for older programming such as TB.
