I don't believe the reason why Emily ended up picking Jef as her F1 had anything whatsoever to do with the fact Arie dated Cassie several years ago.

I think Em had some strong feelings and disappointments relating to Arie .. But in the long run .. I do believe Arie was F3 because Jef really was/is the on she fell in love with

Agree. I think we will see through the end that Emily never had any disappointments with Jef or doubts even (aside from wondering if he was really into her) and that when all was said and done, he really had all of the important qualities she was looking for, including chemistry. She appears to really be happy with her choice, and in love, based upon the interview we got from her earlier in the week.

The long and short of it is: Em attempted relationships with allthese men to see which fit for her. Arie and Em had some attraction and I believe she did have feelings for him. Whatever the reason...Em felt Arie was not the one and Jef is. I look forward to these two and vicariously watching as they try tomake this work in R/L. Hopefully, everyone comes out ahead.

I remember seeing a video on here of Jef and Bronson talking about People Water. They were being interviewed on a news show or something. I've been trying to find it in the video archives, but I'm not having any luck. Does anyone else remember seeing that or know where it is??

RS has also gone to say that it is clear to him that Emily got over her upset about the Cassie thing pretty quick. He seems to be on the, "if it had been that big a deal, he would have gone home right away" band wagon. Whatever ended that relationship, it wasn't Cassie.

With what we've seen so far, I'm going with a "developed stronger feelings for someone else" theory. It looks like her relationship with Arie accelerated to 60 mph fast, and then stayed there (or maybe got to 65, but never 90); that it didn't really keep progressing. Perhaps eventually she came to see many of the same qualities she fell for in Arie in Jef, with some added layers that ended up tipping the scales for her. These two guys say they are very similar and very good friends, but there also are some obvious differences. And Arie clearly moves faster, period. So, we'll see how it appears to play out (word appears used intentionally, it isn't like we'll ever really truly know).

Agreed, this is what I'm inclined to guess. There was an instant connection with Arie and he had an earlier 1 on 1 date, a frontrunner on all accounts. He does come across as an affable, comforting type of guy and of course, very cute. What's not to like? Jef was a bit of a mystery to her in the beginning but definitely an early attraction, depth and flirtation mixed with mutual nerves. I'm thinking of the horse race tweet that was cited that MF made during filming. Maybe they were the two in the running from the get go and one pulled out ahead in the end. I think one of things tipping the scales for Em is Jef as an instant family man, which will become more apparent in Prague and going forward.

As much as Jef said he sat back early on, he was front and center early on as well. :Smiley: He really (read it 5x's) looked good that night. Thanks for sharing! I had watched this a couple of days ago. I only wish it had been clearer in video and audio quality.
