Arie is a frontrunner at this point, if not, THE frontrunner. The Cassie and Arie stuff may be dismissed by some presently since it conflicts with Love's spoilers and confirms RS'. Love's spoilers state that the Cassie/Arie news was a "non-issue" for Emily while RS said that it infuriated her. The fact that the show is airing the raw footage of her reaction supports, IMO, that Emily didn't take it very well.
The crux of this matter rests on the resolution of it. If we don't see Emily confronting Arie about it on Monday night and she allows it to spill into subsequent weeks such that it erodes her trust in him simply because he's not telling her, then Arie's omission causes Emily not to trust him. Poor guy doesn't even know that she didn't know about Cassie. If this Cassie stuff drags on into HTDs or into FDs, then it was an issue that divided her from Arie. If they do discuss it head-on and work through it in Prague, then we have verification that the spoilers most likely are correct, that Cassie wasn't the issue, and that Emily chose Jef freely and willingly with love in her heart.
Fun times!
I guess I don't get if/when there is a resolution to the Cassie/Arie issue is predictive of Emily picking Jef freely and willingly with love in her heart. I totally get that Arie is (appears) to be and have been the front runner from early on (I love both Jef and Arie so would be happy with either as F1), but it doesn't mean he will always be and that Emily is actually falling in love with him and not someone else (Jef or Sean).
I agree, but at this point, the edit is telling us that Arie is in love with Emily, and Emily seems well on her way to being in love with Arie. The resolution of the Cassie issue will explain the ending and show us the reason that Jef is her chosen guy. They need to show the general audience the reason that Arie, this guy who has essentially monopolized much of the episodes and figured largely in last week's episode, is not the guy that she chooses. By not only bringing forward the Cassie issue but eventually resolving it, whether in Prague or beyond, it shows the audience the reason that he's cut at F3. Arie's demise also lays the groundwork for Jef and Sean's rise, which, for Jef, needs to happen in more pronounced ways for the general audience than the subtleties to date in order to explain Jef as her F1.
Veg, ITA with all the above, especially to the unspoiled viewers this is crucial. I think the Prague episode will be the turning point of the season. I just hope we see more of Sean, because I don't really get his edit yet. I get Arie's and Jef's, but am still waiting for more from Sean.
I've enjoyed our chat, milly I'd keep an eye on Sean. He might be this season's Kip or not. To date, he's steady as a rock with Emily; patient and supportive. They're hot together, more physical than Jef, but in a very sweet way.

Why would anyone not trust sweet ol' Ryguy? I don't get it.

I totally see Sean as channeling Kip. I always felt like Kip was so two dimensional and boring during Jilly's season, but then, I was a Reid fan and he certainly wasn't boring I just remember Jilly always kissing Kip and not a lot of conversation. At least with Sean, we have some conversation.

I crushed hard on Reid. Glasses or no glasses.
Yes, there's more substance with Sean than Kip (I don't think that Kip was wildly into Jillian). I'm interested to see Monday. He says some scripty lines.
One question: The part of Jef's interview about Sean being a "locked vault" was that included in yesterday's press releases or just today's transcript?

I don't remember the vault statement in the press release, but it may have been. I just went back and read all three interviews - Sean, Arie and Jef's and found the questions that were asked very interesting. I think the questions were pretty similar for Arie and Sean and a bit different for Jef. Sean and Arie were never specifically asked what they liked about Emily, where Jef was. Also, Sean and Arie both talked more about the activities they did on the dates and less about conversations between them. To me, Sean was the least gushy, then Arie and Jef was much more expansive. Don't know what this means, if anything, but I found the differences interesting.

The locked vault is included in a few of the articles such as Digital Spy and on Wetpaint.
I just posted some poll results in Sean's thread that demonstrate that viewers invested enough to vote on Hollywood Gossip think Sean's the one she should choose by a comfortable margin. It's only 17K voters but I found it interesting given how little screen time Sean has actually had. Especially given the remarks about him upthread - that he's not saying a lot or enough to some of you.
I guess I'm wondering what they are going to do to the editing as well as the media promotion over the next 4 episodes to change viewers' minds or prepare viewers for the ending because right now viewers are expecting something different. While being played down by the network, do you think the Arie issue will bother viewers?

Arie implied last week that someone in the house kept his dates with Emily to himself only for Jef to out in his interview yesterday that it was Sean. If Sean was the locked vault, it would make sense to me that he'd maintain that same demeanor throughout his interviews, if not more so than the other two if he was the F1.
I find it interesting that more of yesterday's press writeups didn't run the locked vault comment. Hmm. Hmm.

Pattycake92 wrote:It sounded to me that Emily had known for a while. It was something that she was waiting for Arie to mention. I don't believe anything RS says this season. He has gotten too much wrong to be considered reliable. Also, if Arie was told not to mention it, wouldn't he tell that to Emily later? And then wouldn't Emily be mad at Cassie? Not Arie? I think she knew, didn't think it was a big deal but wanted him to tell her and when he didn't, it then became a red flag.
RS said Arie was told by TP not to mention his prior relationship with Cassie to Emily and when TP told her and she and Arie talked about it, he told her he was told not to tell her and it was all taken care of. RS also said Em was not mad at Arie, but she was mad at TP for deceiving her. That's exactly what it looks like happens next week on the show. Remember, RS was the one who said Emily was very upset when she heard about it, but others said no she wasn't. Well, we all have seen the previews for next weeks episode & she is definitely p***ed as RS said she was. I just don't see where he has gotten things wrong so often. He has told us A LOT over the years and it was right. I know he was wrong until the eleventh hour on Ali & Brad's season, but he got it right before it aired. I notice he hasn't gone out on a limb and said who F1 is this season. Heck, he says he doesn't know what happens after the HTD and Chris B. is sent home. He says he doesn't know what happens for sure with Jef, Sean & Arie. Now that is unusual. Frankly, I am beginning to think she took all 3 to the end. I just don't know what Sean meant by the statement about RS "is missing something with the F3", if he indeed told that girl that. At first blush, you might think she sent Chris & another guy home after HTD & brought another guy back for the FD, but I don't think she had a close enough relationship with any of the other guys to take a step like that. It did cross my mind that she might have brought Ryan back so she could have the pleasure of kicking him off again. I'm sure that didn't happen! I do think Emily was attracted to him though & it was hard to send him home.

If Cassie dating Arie was such a huge issue for Emily she would have sent him home in Prague. How many men has Emily eliminated this season during their dates because she didn't see a future with them or because she felt disrespected by them? There have been several she shed no tears over after not giving them a rose to continue on this journey. This is a scripted reality show and they have to have some type of "drama" or "conflict" take place between the contestants. Even if there isn't any.
I don't believe the reason why Emily ended up picking Jef as her F1 had anything whatsoever to do with the fact Arie dated Cassie several years ago.

I agree 100%.
she was upset that the woman (cassie) who share her life almost 24/7 for weeks never mentioned anything. THAT she felt betrayed. She probably hoped that arie would share it on his own but in the end she is a smart woman and know (after brad season, after talking to many contestants etc) that the producers manipulate peopke. HECK! she is manipulated and she knows it. it is impossible not to know it when the producers give her direction to do or say things. When she looks at the fireworks on the deck after joe's departure, when she hold the rose in her hand in croatia and put in on her night stand, and tons of example like that.
"Reality television frequently portrays a modified (...) day-to-day life, at times utilizing sensationalism to attract audience viewers and increase advertising revenue. Participants are often placed in exotic locations or abnormal situations, and are often persuaded to act in specific scripted ways by off-screen "story editors" or "segment television producers" with the portrayal of events and speech manipulated and contrived to create an illusion of reality through direction and post-production editing techniques." ~ Wikipedia |

She was disappointed that Arie didn't tell her. I don't believe for one minute she was ever upset with Cassie.
