This is the simplest and best explanation. He does what he wants and gets a verbal slap for it from a producer, lather rinse repeat. He's dying to be out from under their thumb, I don't think he had any idea of just how muzzled and monitored they'd make him feel.

If we don't get a Jef interview pre FRC, this may be why....TPTB are scared shitless of what he will say!

I suspect he's not allowed to directly promote People Water, run contests, etc on the Bachelorette name. Legally that would be different from using twitter to promote ONLY People Water, using the fact of ones newfound notoriety to draw attention to People Water only promotional activities. It's another thing to potentially leave an impression that "THE BACHELORETTE" is endorsing PW. Serious line crossing, but no damage as long as he pulls it.

Ben promoted wine events saying he was the Bachelor Ben from the Bachelor. I rememeber the flyers we saw.

It was probably a friends' idea, just like the teamjef shirts. I'm sure he asked Em about it and she approved, but didn't ask the higher ups. Haha.
