I don't have an answer for these interviews.
I am not saying this to offend Sean fans....I just don't think they would single out one contestant to interview if he was the F1. Talk about obvious. Now if they started interviewing Jef and Arie also, that would be different.

Do you think they know the buzz is Jef won, and they are trying to detract from that??

Seems like this is all but a promotional push. From the previews the other 1on1 date looked boring. Even Jef and Em ditched the planned activity. So from a promotional POV this one is better to push.

Plus he sounds really excited. When asked about any upcoming drama he pretty much said no and then brought the topic back to tonights date.

Yeah it's probably a promotional push. I mean, Sean only gets one 1-1, so, I think they have to show the audience as to why he makes it F2. The group dates don't high light the lead and the guy's connection as much.. at least not as much as a 1-1 would. (except for that ep7 kiss Embarressed!

Yea i understand the promotional push, but i would think for Sean this would be like rubbing salt in his wounds, yet it doesn't seem to bother him. I mean he could refuse being he was the F2 and the rejection for the 2 and 3 has to be unbelievably hard since it hasn't been that long.

2 things came to mind when I read this and I maybe way off base here....

1. Sean did not fall in love at all with Emily and is fine with doing these interviews. However, he used terms like sparks fly and the start of their relationship etc. so that tells me that this was a really,really good date for him. He could have described the scenery and the food instead but he spoke of their relationship.

2. He was not the F2 and is really happy with how this all turned out. scratch

I think it could also be a correction in their strategy. Their early editing choices didn't exactly win over a lot of viewers. Focusing so much on Arie and not really promoting the other viable options has been a mistake from my perspective. It seems the unspoiled think he has it in the bag and the others are just matter of timers. Having Sean so visible creates a little bit of doubt and something for viewers to speculate about until one of the mags spoils it all.

Now Wetpaint has joined the fray. "Bachelorette Speculation: Why Emily Maynard Picks Sean Lowe (Maybe)" The author brings up some good points about Sean in the article about why he could be the one. Specifically, this one stood out to me:

Then ABC sent a follow-up e-mail to add that Sean would be talking to the press too, to promote his first date with Emily on the London-set Episode 5. That’s ... unusual. On the call, Sean gave tons of heavy hints about being Em’s Chosen One, including that he was looking forward to going back and watching the episode because it’s where they kicked off their relationship and the sparks first started flying. He also said he’d love to go back to London. “I could see a wedding there, if that were in the future, or a honeymoon, sure." Why would he say all that if he got dumped and was broken-hearted? He’d have to be going along with some producer-driven manipulation ploy. Does that sound like Sean? Why would he help the show send viewers in the wrong direction? To what end?
