Does anybody have any thoughts on why Emily wasted a 1 on 1 date in Prague with Jon? Why wouldn't she give Sean that date? It's obvious Jon was never on her radar. :greenman:

I know that I had wondered what would have happened in Prague if Emily had only taken 5 men instead of 6. Would she have taken John or Doug if she had given out that last rose? So, it was possible that her talk with John where he revealed such an emotional and personal thing about himself ended up saving him that night. In any case, I wonder if that may have changed who got the dates in Prague?

I know that it has been said many times that these dates are decided by the producers, with Emily having little or no input. Perhaps it is a moot point to even be questioning the dates at this time, but Chris H did say that they did not expect Emily to let both of the guys go on their 1-on-1's. So, between Ryan and Travis, if Emily HAD kept one, I believe more than likely that it would have been Ryan that advanced. Let's face it. Ryan made for good tv in their eyes. Maybe Ryan ended up talking his way out of advancing, and it WAS a surprise to production. I don't know.

Anyway, here is my question. Do any of you believe that by Emily letting Ryan go in Croatia, that that affected the dates in Prague? If she had kept Ryan, then who would have been have eliminated? John or Doug? If it happened like that, then I could have seen Sean getting a second 1-on-1 in Prague with Ryan on the 2-on-1 with either John or Doug.

However, on the other hand, when Emily told Sean to be confident in knowing how she feels about him "even when things got tough" also could have been Emily hinting at the fact that Jef and Arie get a second 1-on-1 while he is sent on another group date. Frankly, I would have to believe that Sean was a little stunned that Jef got a second date and he didn't, since they both had just had their first date with Emily 2 weeks before that. I know that it would have made me wonder what was going on if I were Sean.

What do all of you think? Did they change up who got the 1-on-1's in Prague, or were they just following the story that was already written ahead of time?

So adorable, but this picture makes me laugh for more reasons than one. Doug looks like he wants someone to shoot him and put him out of his misery from having to watch that movie. Chris looks like he's jealous that Sean isn't sharing his popcorn with him (even though he already has his own). And Emily, John, and Arie couldn't look any less interested. I love it.

From my perspective, the timing and selection of the one on ones have been a major misstep for the season and it looks like it continues on next epi. After the big issue of keeping John and Doug, why not give one to Doug, too, if it's all about confirming feelings? Otherwise, why didn't she send him home last week? I guess they needed to create drama and make some of the guys feel especially vulnerable such as Sean and Chris.

After re-watching last week's scene again, it does seem like Emily picked up on some kind of vibe from Sean that suggested he was feeling less than confident or disappointed about how the cup thing went down along with her speech about it. Her chat did seem to be telling him that he didn't have to worry but I think he does worry once the group date card arrives and his name is on it - so he does this:

When the group date card arrives, Chris is crushed when he learns that he will be joining two other bachelors on the date. Despite his visible anguish, it is actually another more impulsive man from this group who will slip out of the hotel and look for Emily on the quiet Prague streets. After anxiously searching, the desperate suitor finds Emily and they share a sexy late-night rendezvous.

Perhaps she wanted to close the whole John issue in her mind conclusively. She did announce in ep 6 that the 1on1 dates was to figure out the guys that she had questions on (travis and ryan). IMO and its my opinion only, she still had questions in episode 7 so she took those guys on dates. Simple.

Again, IMO she has no questions about Sean at this point and though I'm projecting (I hate that but here goes), Sean will have a pretty darn good episode regardless. She also knew that the GD was the only guaranteed HTD rose so she kept him on that to give him the assurance.

That's a good point, Longhornfan. It does seem like Emily was trying to prepare Sean for next week and I think she also mentioned that he needed to stay confident.

Another thought is maybe Emily liked Jon better than the edit is showing us.

yeah since episode 3. But despite their 1on1 time hitting the cutting floor in episode 1 and 2, we got a surprise hand holding (both mind you), fingers entwined and hand on the leg ! Pretty intimate considering squat was shown to us in episodes 1 and 2 .

Good point! I've been so Pro-Sean that I had forgotten that he only had a few ITMs and reaction shots in the first couple of episodes. Until your post, it had not occurred to me that Sean is practically just as much of a dark horse as Jef in this horse race (as The Machine's likes to refer to this season).

^^^ I'm going to assume here that they had a lot of the faith talk in episode 2 - therefore their time wasn't shown.

But just wanted to point out something interesting in this thread, not sure how many of you will appreciate it but I found it very interesting.

So you know how Bloomers and the other verterans of the edit figured out that most of the time, an F1's limo entrance gets moved around. I.e. his actual entrace and the shown entrace don't correspond. And when Seans entrace number was not changed up at all. He was 1st out of the limo both in RT and OS.

There was a reason for that .

At the time when she was giving Sean the rose she said that it is crazy for me to think about you being the first one out of the limo and now you are here. And you set the tone for that night and now from here on out. .

I thought that was so cute but see the editing left him in that position. Pretty sure before this season is done - there will be another reference to that limo entrance and I will be .
