Yup. Cookie cutter ain't they?
You also gotta stay away from the center... ha ha! Well... Chris was center in one of this season's line-ups and he makes F4. Also Courtney was center in two ceremonies I think. This is probably because Rule #2 (I guess) came into play: you have to be kept far apart from your chief rivals so that it is harder for you to see the lead make gooey eyes (or not) at your rival.veg_out wrote:
I pulled together the RC lineups that I took one season for Bloomers. These caps pertain ONLY to the Bachelorette. Sometimes, Bloomers compared both.
Deanna's season:
F4 but F1 Graham, F5 Twilley, F1 but F4 Jesse , F5 Sean, F2 but F3 Jason, and F3 but F2 Jeremy
Yeah, Bachelor and Bachelorette are so different... and Ben Flajnik was on cruise control most of his season with Courtney popping all over the line-ups as he kept debating her status.
Graham probably was Top Dawg here. Deanna's season was also a little confusing, but you probably nailed the "current" and "final" positions here.
I guess... heck, we can't get inside the Princess Mind here.Jill's season:
(missing, F1) Ed, F5 Stag, F4 Wes, F5 Jesse, F3 Reid, and F2 Kiptyn
I think Mike Stag and Jesse left here, so if Eddie moves in next to Mike, that puts him in the "dumping arena" you suggested anders.
They did keep Reid far apart from both Ed and Wes a lot, but not so much Kippy... except here. Jillie's season had a lot of "shuffling" of positions though. Spain's lineup had Ed, Wes (going), Kippy and Reid. These final four setups usually put the top 2 at each end. Only Jillie was ssssoooooo confused between The Volcano and Soy Grande that the old FORT was a battlefield determining who had the lead.Ali's season:
F3 Frank, F5 Ty, F4 Kirk, F1 Roberto, F2 Chris
This line-up is confusing except that Frankie is kept far apart from Roberto and Chris here. I think because the other two guys had a "gentlemen's agreement" and were ultimately OK to carry on the show regardless who "won the girl", production was a bit sloppy with the way they positioned those two. Poor Ty and Kirkie. Kirkie was an early frontrunner and did nothing wrong. She just couldn't take him to Tahiti with Roberto in the picture. She felt safer and "more friends than lovers" with Frankie and Chris.Ashley's season:
F3 Dino, F5 Lucas, F4 Ames, F2 Ben, F1 JP
Dino is actually F2 here, replacing Mister Sunshine who was dumped on his date. JP was having a "bad bad bad week" so Ashley was cutting his biggest competitors right away: Ryan and Lucas... then Ames. In that way, they could still play Fiji jungle gym without JP worrying too much how much nookie the other guys got. Nevermind the "lack of physical-ness" and water heater talk. Rocketship Ryan was always her second favorite after Willie left. She did NOT just say "RY, you can't stay here in Fiji" when he popped in to say "Hi". Instead she vibrated like a pinball machine and said "I gotta think about this".
Ben replaced Dino the next ceremony since the former got his restaurant promoted on hometown and no longer had any use for this silly show. Had Ashley got it HER way, my guess is that she would have forced Benny Boy out, following Dino, and kept Mister Sunshine after he arrived. Yet Ben was sssoooooo gullible enough to propose in Fiji that PRODUCTION had to have him for Dramatic Reasons and got her to ditch Mister Sunshine SIX... yes six!!!!... days after he arrived. That scene with Chrystie and the family is a howl. She hardly even LOOKS at Benny Boy and quickly breaks out in doggie talk ("Hey Boooo!") just so she won't be giving him cold dagger looks!Emily's season:
Jef is standing in the F3 spot per the last two Bachelorette seasons. He's in the F1 spot per Deanna and Jill's season (Ed is missing from that cap). Arie is standing in the F3 spot from Deanna and Jill's seasons, Roberto (F1)'s spot, and Ben's F2 spot. Sean is standing in the F2 spot of all aforementioned seasons except Ashley's. Sean could be standing in the F1 spot like JP.
I understand that some don't put weight on these lineups, but they usually are informative. That second from the right spot seems to be a major wild card in Bachelorette seasons. Jef was either F3 or F1 at this point based on the RC lineups for what it's worth.
Bloomers, if you're out there, feel free to correct any errors!
Yeah, she would have a lot to say about these. The fact that Sean and Arie are often in the back row in the earlier line-ups as "polar opposites" suggest that Fleiss could care less whether they were successful open mouthed kissers and gave Emily the Big O or not. They were staying as "producer picks" regardless, thanks to the "race-car & physical romantic" and "hunky & founded on faith" edits they needed for Emily's STORY. Jef and Chris were the "real deals" for her at this stage, although you can see from the body language that she is essentually stringing poor Chris along for the ride. Those scenes in the movie theater are so awkward. She wanted to cop a feel with Jefie as Chris tried to with her.
I love the history and the humour!!! Thanks

How is that even possible??? He must have been eyeing up Travis's Shelley.

All speculation though... so feel free to analyze and disagree if you find more tidbits of interest later...
Like I said Bloomers would be here making corrections on our "oopsies".
JBF wrote:Bloomers is the expert here, but we all enjoy studying this stuff. The positions change a lot from ceremony to ceremony. Also Bachelor and Bachelorette tend to be different with the male leads changing their minds frequently and the females being more stubborn in their choices.
These are the patterns I've been noticing...
The object of the game is to keep the frontrunner as far from the "second in command" or/and "third in command" as possible, especially further down the season. It is less of an issue in the early ceremonies when there are more standing. In this way, it is harder for each to see the lead's facial reactions when pinning on the roses.
If you are in the middle (unless your name is Courtney since Ben's season broke some rules), you are vulnerable. You may not leave this ceremony, but you have to step up your game if you want to stick around next week.
In the FIRST rose ceremony, the FEMALE lead is probably asked who she sees as "husband" material and who she sees as more "boyfriend" material. The former category is usually in the FRONT row, the latter in the BACK row. It is from the back that the final two and final four dumpees usually are. The final one is usually up front along with his arch rival... who may become final three if he makes it past hometowns. Of course, this is not written in stone... LOL!
If you are both in the front row of the ceremony and the front row of the meet & greet photo (published in TV Guide or Entertainment Weekly), then you are even more important. The following guys were all front row: Jerry Ferris (Jen), Jesse & Jeremy (Deanna), Ed, Reid & Kiptyn (Jillian), Kirk & Roberto (Ali), JP, Ames & William (Ashley) and Joe & Jef (Emily). I strongly suspect, based on his positioning in both the group photo and rose ceremony, Joe... dumped on episode #2's date... was VERY high on Emily's radar that first night.
In Ashley's season: JP, Ryan and William were likely the top 3 in the early weeks, with Ames and Lucas as additional (but lower down) "husband" possibilities. Four of these five received wedding themed dates in Las Vegas and Taipei. Coincidence? Nope. Bentley was a HUGE question mark since he in the back row in both the group photo AND the rose ceremony. Ashley did NOT view him as "husband" material that first week. Did she when he left? That depends on whether the story they fed us was true.
Constantine probably replaced Ryan as the official F2 dumpee in Taiwan, then Ben replaced Constantine after hometowns because the latter gave them the hint he wanted off the show (foreshadowing his Fantasy Date departure). JP was always at the end of the line-up or one guy inward... or next to the have-roses-already guys. Same with Ryan Park, suggesting he was final two up until his sudden dumping in Taiwan. William was always kept far apart from JP and Ryan, but after the comedy roast, he was vulnerable with any number of guys ready to take his place in the top 3. The fact that Ashley kept him through Chiang Mai and added a rose for him in Phuket suggests how VERY high up the totem poll he was.
With Emily's season, Jef, Joe and Doug, with Tony and Travis as lesser candidates, were Emily's top choices. My guess is that PRODUCTION wanted Chris, Ryan, Sean and Arie to make top 4-6 regardless of Emily's connection. Going by their back row positions in both M&G photo and first ceremony, they were not her top choices on night #1.
In Ali's season, Kirk and Roberto were probably her initial top favorites and Frank an interesting "character" whom Ali grew to like enough for a possible final two dumpee. I was firmly on the Chris Lambton band wagon that season but have realized in hindsight that he came up the ranks later on.
Although both Kiptyn and Reid were in the front row of Jillian's M&G photo, they were not front row in the first rose ceremony like Ed was. Ed was also front row in M&G photo. Alas... she had the hots for Ed in the beginning. Yuck! (Just kiddin'... ha ha!)
... and just because you are in back row in the Meet & Greet photo does not mean the lead doesn't fall head over heels in love with you LATER.
Emily probably was all gaga over Arie and Sean as the season progressed. She is certainly not fighting off their kisses and often initiates them herself. It is just that they were not considered "husbands" on night #1, while Jef probably was. I also sense that some of the not-husband-material-right-away guys that make it far in the season are also ones the Bachelorette just likes "being around" and comfortable with.

I don't know if someone already did, but can someone please post the deleted scenes of the episode for outside the US? I guess there are two, one at the theatre and one from the Highland games

and I remember several bachelorette saying the same thing: Trista, DeAnna, Ali, Ashley.... they all said that.
and between you and me... who would not do the same? Would you keep the villains and send home the nice guys? really? Get rid of the rotten first, then keep the best to the end.
"Reality television frequently portrays a modified (...) day-to-day life, at times utilizing sensationalism to attract audience viewers and increase advertising revenue. Participants are often placed in exotic locations or abnormal situations, and are often persuaded to act in specific scripted ways by off-screen "story editors" or "segment television producers" with the portrayal of events and speech manipulated and contrived to create an illusion of reality through direction and post-production editing techniques." ~ Wikipedia |

I can't see it - can someone give a quick rundown of what's said?
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.
